Smith’s Select A Knife Knife and Scissors Sharpener
I’m a knife fanatic! I own dozens of different pocket knives and tactical knives, and I always have my eyes open to acquire more. At all times, I have a knife on me. It’s usually my Swiss Army knife, but sometimes I like to switch it up with a folding hunter knife or even a multi-tool. Knives are tools and are made to cut through things (I know, I know the shock of the century, right!?). What I’m getting at is, they need to be sharp. A knife functions at its best when its at its sharpest. Therefore, you need to sharpen your knives often. One of my biggest pet-peeves is a dull kitchen knife! Have you ever tried to slice up a lemon with a dull knife, or a tomato? What about an onion??? Forget about it!
I received this new knife sharpener from Smith’s called the Select A Knife Knife and Scissors Sharpener. It’s a pull-through sharpener, which means you have to rest the beginning of the blade (near the handle) on the sharpening mechanism, apply light downward pressure, and pull the knife toward you for the length of the blade. These types of sharpeners are best for normal folks, who don’t have experience sharpening blades with rods or stones. What I like about this sharpener is that it will sharpen pretty much any type of blade you have in your home. It even sharpens scissors!
The Smith’s Select A Knife Knife and Scissors Sharpener will sharpen standard American and European blades, serrated blades, and scissor blades. Its quite large of a sharpener, which makes it perfect to keep stored in the kitchen. Smith’s makes a bunch of great portable sharpeners too for those who bring their knives out to play!
The size and design of the Select A Knife Knife and Scissors Sharpener makes it a very stable tool. I like how easy it is to hold the sharpener upright with one hand and pull the knife through with the other. Your hand is to the side of where the sharpening takes place, so there’s little risk for cuts.
Overall, this brand new product retails for $14.99 and can be found at Walmart stores *only*. This is an affordable choice for your knife, and scissor sharpening needs because there really is nothing worse than a dull knife, or pair of scissors!
