Enjoy All Your Pasta Favorites in Gluten-Free Form Thanks to Conte’s Pasta!
Sometimes having a food allergy can really stink! There are so many great foods out there that are off limits to someone with a gluten allergy. This can really make it difficult while meal planning. Lasagna, stuffed shells, gnocchi-these types of dishes are pretty much a big “no-no” for anyone with a gluten allergy unless you prepare them with alternative noodles. While that is not a problem, it sure does make it difficult cooking for my family of five. Thankfully, I’ve been discovering some great pasta companies like Conte’s Pasta that specialize in gluten-free pasta meals.
About Conte’s Pasta:
If you are not familiar with Conte’s Pasta it all started in 1970, Angela Conte came to America with her husband Mario and their three children. Angela was from the Abruzzi region of Italy, and brought with her the time-honored traditions of generations past when it came to pasta meals. There was never a shortage of friends at the Conte’s dinner table. Everyone LOVED Angela’s pasta meals, and that inspired them to open a restaurant in 1978.
After several years at the restaurant, the family began to see such a demand for their pasta that they felt it was time to make a decision. Should they stay in the restaurant business or should they devote themselves to the manufacture and distribution of Conte’s Pasta?
With hard work and determination Angela’s son, Mike, made the decision to open and operate Conte’s Pasta Company. Through word of mouth business grew steadily.
Fast forward to the year 2007, where once again you find Conte’s working to bring their product into every home in America, including the homes of those who are unable to tolerate wheat, barley, rye and oats. Our Gluten Free Line of products has been manufactured on a limited basis for several years but we are now running full production lines of Gluten Free Pasta and Pierogies
Conte’s Pasta generously sent us their entire line of gluten free frozen pasta meals, as well as their gluten free pizza, and pizza crust. I was amazed to see just how many combinations of delicious, authentic Italian pasta dishes they made! It is so rare to find a good frozen meal, but to discover a delicious, frozen, gluten free pasta meal; that is just amazing! I am so happy they decided to open a dedicated gluten free facility this past October!
Here is what I received:
- Two gluten free pre-made pizza crusts
- Margarita Pizza with Roasted Garlic, and Olive Oil
- Cheese Ravioli with Marinara Sauce (microwave meal)
- Cheese Lasagna (x 2 microwave meal)
- Cheese Stuffed Shells and Marinara Sauce (microwave meal)
- Gluten Free Pizza Shells
- Cheese Stuffed Shells
- Potato Onion Perogies
- Spinach & Cheese Ravioli
- Potato Cheese Onion Pierogi
Of course, my little one couldn’t wait to try these meals made especially for her and others who suffer from a gluten intolerance. Pasta is her favorite food so seeing all these delicious looking meals was wonderful for her! We decided to first try the Margarita Pizza with Roasted Garlic, and Olive Oil. This worked out great because we like to enjoy pizza on the weekends. With the exception of hand making our pizza there are not many convenient options.
Conte’s Margarita Pizza with Roasted Garlic, and Olive Oil had the overall appearance of any other frozen pizza. The size fed my three kids comfortably which was a major plus. However, I do believe that an adult could easily polish it off in one sitting. The taste of the pizza was delicious because I sampled a small bite from my son’s plate. Most importantly my daughter ate all her’s and enjoyed eating pizza.
Their pre-made gluten free pizza shells were also a huge hit! We used both for our lunch, and made mushroom, onion, and pepper pizzas. I really loved how the crust really crisped up nicely, and formed a golden brown crunch. It did not get soggy at all, and held our toppings perfectly. We used a cheese alternative so the cheese did not melt, but that is besides the point.
Conte’s bagged pasta meals need to be boiled, and served with one’s favorite sauce, or marinara. I really enjoyed trying these popular Italian dishes, and so did our daughter. She loved each, and every variety, and finished her entire meal every time Conte’s was served. As a mom it makes me happy to know that my child can easily enjoy her favorite meal thanks to them.
Overall, I would recommend anyone check out Conte’s Pasta. They not only have gluten-free varieties, but also regular types as well. Our family loves their meals because they are made of quality ingredients, and taste wonderful. It feels good to know that I can trust
Conte’s Pasta with making gluten-free pasta meals that make my daughter feel included. I also love how fast and convenient “homemade” can be.
Conte’s Pasta can be found in health food stores across the country. I am so lucky to have a little store just a few miles away that carries their meals. You can also buy their meals online at Gluten Free Mall. Prices are pretty expensive, but the fact that they taste amazing, provide generous portions, allow my daughter to eat her favorite dishes, and are convenient justify that factor.
I suggest checking out Conte’s official site to learn more about how they can provide your family with some of the best pasta you will ever try! I swear if I was served some of these dishes blindly I would have not even known they were once frozen-they are just that good! You can connect with Conte’s on their official Facebook Page to stay up to date on any product news, and releases.
