Vinnie Tortorich’s Fitness Confidential – The Best Fitness and Weight Loss Book I’ve Read Yet
I’m personally not overweight. Yeah I can pinch more than an inch of belly fat, but other than that, I’m pretty lean. But my body seems to be changing. Until recently, I could eat the worst foods, and a lot of them too, without gaining any weight. A good night’s sleep would burn off most of the weight I added on the night before. Friends and family were jealous! Unfortunately, my metabolism is beginning to show signs of slowing down, and my eating habit is going to catch up to me, if I don’t make some changes.
Recently, I’ve been reading and watching a significant amount of material regarding healthy lifestyles. I’m trying to wade through the crap out there – the useless fitness devices, sugary weight-loss supplements, crazy diets, you know – the fads. If I’m going to better my health… if anyone is going to better their health, it’s going to take more than just a “diet” or a bottle of pills. We need a lifestyle change that’s sustainable and fulfilling. That’s why this new book I just read called Fitness Confidential by Vinnie Tortorich is a breath of fresh air.
I honestly didn’t know who Vinnie Tortorich was from a hole in the wall before I read his book. I’m not sure if I was supposed to or not, but to be honest, I don’t keep up to date with the fitness industry. Nor did I ever ask the question – “I wonder who all these fit celebrities and pompous rich people from California use as their personal trainer?”… Well apparently, Vinnie Tortorich is one of those trainers. However, he’s not riding the wave of some new fitness or diet trend. Vinnie’s clients quickly and effectively lose a lot of weight naturally.
One of the reasons I like Fitness Confidential is because Vinnie cuts to the chase. He tells us exactly how to eat to lose weight and stay lean. Plus, he tells us exactly how we should be exercising. He’s not trying to sell us a cookbook, a fitness DVD, or diet pills. Vinnie is simply sharing his tried and true experience, and helping us cut through the BS!
The book is very well written and easy to understand. I can picture Vinnie sitting across a table, telling me this information. It feels like I’ve hired him as my personal trainer. Yeah, I know he’s not meeting me at the gym three days a week to keep me on track. But the information he provides in Fitness Confidential is easy to understand, and is un-daunting. I can easily follow these tips on my own.
In addition to teaching us a great deal about fitness and diet, Vinnie also opens up and shares some great stories about his life. Not everyone’s life experiences are worthy enough to be written about, but Vinnie’s certainly are. I found many of his short stories riveting and inspiring. He tells his stories in a way that allows the reader to connect with him, and you find yourself struggling to put down the book (or turn off the Kindle!) and go to bed.
Overall, I found Fitness Confidential to be informative, funny, entertaining, and inspiring. What more could you ask for in a book? Thanks Vinnie, for the great information, and sharing your story!
