Strawberry and Arugula Balsamic Chef Salad & Blaze Review
Thank you to Blaze for sending samples!
I cannot believe it is already July! For this month’s recipe food challenge, our theme is fruit. What can you make with fruit? Well, I know that I was thinking blueberry muffins, fruit bars, and cake, but then reality hit me. I have to cut my sugar, and carbs intake to lose weight. I started brainstorming about healthier “out of the box” fruit ideas. That is when my strawberry and arugula balsamic chef salad came into play.
Before this salad, I can honestly say that I never paired sweet fruit with meats intentionally. I have always liked to play it safe when it came to salads, but yearned for a change. I really think I evaluated my fridge contents for this dish, and kinda played with flavors. I had sweet honey ham, swiss cheese, fresh sugar snap peas, arugula, and super ripe strawberries, plus my latest review item; a trio of Blaze Balsamic Glazes.
Blaze sent us a trio of their top selling balsamic glazes. We received the following flavors:
- The First Glaze-Balsamic Vinegar of Modena
- Fruity Glaze with Strawberry and Balsamic Vinegar
- Fruity Glaze with Fig and Balsamic Vinegar
Each of these bottles contained 7.3 ounces of some of the best balsamic glazes I’ve ever tasted! The fruit varieties even contain real fruit which is just amazing! So far, I am really loving the First Glaze because it has turned my sauteed vegetables, and strawberry and arugula chef salad into top notch gourmet dishes!
I really love how a little goes a long way! I lightly drizzled my salad, and found The First Glaze by Blaze to be the perfect taste to marry my strawberries, cheese, and meat. My husband also loved these glazes, and requested that I actually purchase more when they run out! I am very appreciative of this opportunity to work with Blaze because they are keeping me on track with healthy, fresh eating.
Blaze was the perfect finishing touch to my Strawberry and Arugula Balsamic Chef Salad. If you would like to try the great flavors of this salad, below are the ingredients (makes 2 adult servings):
- 2 cups of arugula
- 1 cup fresh sugar snap peas
- 8 large, ripe strawberries
- 1/4 lb honey ham
- 1/4 lb swiss cheese
- 1 tablespoon of Blaze, The First Glaze
This recipe is super simple, and perfect for a quick, healthy Summer meal! Simply mix your greens, and peas together. Chop your meat, cheese, and strawberries. Sprinkle them on each serving (makes 2). I am sure you will love how each flavor compliments the next in this salad. The balsamic glaze really add the “cherry on top” flavor to this meal.
I suggest checking out Modena Fine Foods to view all their glazes, and gourmet food products. They have so much fantastic products to add some flare to your dishes!
They are also on social media sites Facebook, and Twitter.
