Red White and Blue Cheerios Treat Bars #PlatefulCo-Op
“I received complementary ingredients from my lovely sponsors. The idea is that of my own.”
As part of the Platefull Co-op, I get to sample new General Mills products that hit the store shelves. Last month, I received two boxes of Cheerios that each contained a bi-lingual book as part of the Cheer On Reading promotion General Mills is conducting. This wonderful initiative was started to encourage parents to read with their children so that they are more apt to be successful. My husband and I love to read to our three kiddos and they have quite the library at home!
By now, you all know that I love to cook! Besides the amazing books we received in our Cheerios boxes, I wanted to use the cereal in a fun a creative way. Since Memorial Day, is quickly approaching, I thought it would be neat to turn some Cheerios into to Red, White and Blue Cheerios Treat Bars. With the addition of some marshmallows, butter, Wilton Sky Blue food Gel, Celebrations Sixlets, and a super Cool Wilton Star Mold Pan my treats turned out both patriotic, and kids friendly.
