St. Patrick’s Day Green No-Bake Oreo Ball Truffles Recipe
As many of you know about now, I love to make easy and fun seasonal treats. I don’t really celebrate St. Patrick’s Day anymore ever since my uncle passed away on it. I have been trying to more for my kids sake, but it is still a bittersweet day for our family. Yesterday, I was looking for an easy treat to accompany my Starbucks Pour Over Coffee, and the idea for St. Patrick’s Day Green No-Bake Oreo Ball Truffles was born.
It just so happened that I literally has each ingredient on hand (there are really just 3) so I employed the help of my 5 year old ball rolling expert and got to work. My daughter loved playing with playdoughs so I figured she’d love making truffle balls from the Oreo and Cream Cheese mixture. Of course, she was more than happy to oblige and helped me to roll up about 20 truffles.
I decided to use the green Wilton Candy melts for these because I love the consistently so much! I used to color my own white chocolate chips, but that is too much work, and too much gel can seize the chocolate. The melts worked just fine heated up in a ceramic bowl in the microwave for 2 25 minute increments with two stirs in between.
Ideally, I wanted a sweet treat that was quick, easy, and tasty that would complement my Starbucks® House Blend Pour Over Coffee. These went perfect because they complemented the smooth, rich coffee taste. I didn’t add any sugar to my pour over because the sweetness from the truffles would balance out the coffee. Pour Over Coffee has a unique taste so these paired well with one another.
Here is what you will need to make St. Patrick’s Day Green No-Bake Oreo Ball Truffles Recipe:
- 1 package of Oreos-I used Double Chocolate ones
- 1 8 ounce package of cream cheese
- 1 package of Wilton Green Candy Melts
- St. Patrick’s Day Sprinkles
To make these, simply crush the Oreos in a food processor until fairy fine
Add Oreo mixture to a large bowl with 1 softened, 8 ounce brick of cream cheese; blend well by hand
Form 1 1/2 inch balls by hand, and place them on a wax paper lined baking sheet
Dip Oreo Ball Truffles into the melted chocolate mixture, and sprinkle with St. Patrick’s Day Sprinkles; set on the waxed paper and repeat.
