Ahh, the holiday season is in full swing, and that means many of you will be busy, busy, busy! Don’t let yourself get caught up in the hustle and bustle that comes along with this hectic time of year. It sounds a heck of a lot easier than it is, but try to carve out some time to spend with your family and especially your significant other. Being romantic with your partner may be the last thing on your mind right now, but it could actually help reduce the holiday stress!
I admit, I am guilty of getting so caught up with work, kids’ schedules, and shopping that it is easy to put intimacy on the back burner. Rather than fall into a romantic slump, I thought it would be neat to create a 12 Days of Romance Ornament Tree. This DIY wooden tree might look like an ordinary Christmas tree, but it is actually a secret tool that will help bring my husband and myself closer this holiday season.
My husband gets all the credit for constructing this wooden ornament tree. I did paint it though and string the ornaments so he can’t take all the credit. I also came up with 12 clever gestures and activities (which are hand-written on the back of each ornament) that he will most likely appreciate. Some are bonding activities like baking cookies and watching a romantic movie–he ought to love that one..haha!! Others are to enhance our intimacy with the use of K-Y® TOUCH®.
I recently picked up a bottle of the all new K-Y® TOUCH® at Walmart in the intimate care aisle, which my husband is sure to love! This product can helpwill bring us closer during this hectic time of year, and help to relieve some stress. I mean who doesn’t love a passionate massage? We are always game when it comes to enhancing our intimate experience so this product couldn’t fit into our 12 Days of Romance Ornament Tree any better.
Want to make this 12 Days of Romance Ornament Tree? Here is what you will need:
- 3 pieces of 1 x 2 pine furring strips-base: 20 inches- sides:
- wood glue
- brad nailer
- 1/8th drill bit
- tack or tape
- chip brush
- green paint
- sand paper
- gift tags
Cut the wood as follows: 1 piece 26 5/16″ long with 50 degree miter on one end and a 20 degree miter on other end. Measurement taken to the points
Other piece is 23 31/32 long. 50 degree miter one end, 20 degree miter other end
Glue and Brad nail each joint
After sanding, use tacks, finish nails, or heavy duty tape to adhere the twine to each level. I made three rows and measured the width of each to get the right twine length with a little leeway for taping.
Clip the strings of your gift tags, and write down 12 activities, or moments you and your partner can engage in to become closer, and have a more intimate holiday.
Be sure to print the $2 off one K-Y® product coupon and use it the next time you are at Walmart.
