4 Simple Steps to Smart Snacking for a Renewed You!

Happy 2018! Ever hear of that saying, New Year, Renewed You?
I have decided this will be my 2018 mantra. You see, I started out the first 6 months of 2017 going strong in the eating well, exercising, and self-care department. Then, once we decided to sell our first home and buy another, I fell off track hardcore! Smart snacking was out the window, and I would hit drive-throughs without hesitation. I became overly stressed out and started to make some not so smart snacking (or eating) choices. I wasn’t preparing, or planning which sabotaged my lifestyle, and had me gaining back 20 lbs quickly.
However, now that we are settled into our home, and finally on a schedule, I am going to make 2018 amazing! After realizing how sluggish and careless I have been lately when it comes to snacking, I decided to head to Walgreens to do what I do best–shop! I love Walgreens for so many reasons. You all I know I love their greeting cards, snacks, and more! I grabbed a carriage, and headed straight to the food aisles to scope out some Nice!® foods.
Ok, so besides the fact that Nice! foods are so scrumptious, I have so many reasons why I genuinely love this brand.
The fact that it is so easily accessible at Walgreens makes the Nice! brand an amazing choice. This store-brand is priced so affordable. I love that even their organic foods like their Blue Corn Tortillas Chips are even cheaper than the brand name non-organic chips! This is why I love Nice! foods and paper products so much! They make eating better for you snacks so much easier!
I might have picked up lots of protein- filled snacks but the Nice! line extends far beyond what you all see here! They have frozen pizzas, ice cream, appetizers, cheese, and more! Our family loves the quality and the value these foods bring to the table.

Since I am focusing on 4 Simple Steps to Smart Snacking today, I chose Nice! foods that are going to help keep me on track in the New Year. Snacks like almonds, trail mix, mixed nuts, and popcorn are my favorites. I guess you could say that I am more a savory person and Jared is more a sweet person. He always tends to go straight for the chocolate while I go for the saltier stuff.
4 Simple Steps to Smart Snacking:
My first step for Smart Snacking is to be prepared and have the foods you want to snack on, in your pantry or refrigerator. There is nothing worse than planning on eating more nutritious foods and not being able to enjoy them because you didn’t buy any! By heading to Walgreens, you can easily find loads of tasty snacks from Nice! to keep you on track. Each package features key nutrition highlights on the top corner of the bag.
Next up is the plan out your snacks and meals. I know this might sound a little childish, but I find I am more successful eating better for me foods when I plan my meals and snacks. Using an app, or simple paper planner can make all the world of difference.
If you want to really do well, portion your snacks out. I know we have all been there, done that with finishing a bag of chips in one sitting that was meant for 2-3 servings.
By portioning out snacks according to the serving sizes you will stay on track and eat in moderation.
Lastly, you want to make your snacks portable.Nice! foods are so portable and a reason I love them so much.
I can easily tuck a serving size bag of their pumpkin seeds, or pistachios (under $2) in my gym bag, car, or purse. The granola bars are also a great choice of feel-good snacks. By having the snacks with you at all times you will avoid the gas station, or drive through pit stops. Nice! even has coffee which I love!!! These K-Cup® Pods are amazing!!!
