Welcome to the New Year! I really cannot believe we are already well into January, and February is right around the corner. I have been embracing my New Year, renewed me attitude, and have been continuously making strides towards better choices for my whole family.
Did you know that making better choices and choosing a more positive approach to life is not just restricted to the foods we eat? A positive, optimistic, and kind attitude is also important in making changes. As a parent, it is my job to instill these traits in my children. My goal is to especially empower my girls and let them know that they can achieve great things in life.
One of the easiest ways to make sure my girls are starting their New Year off right is to not only feed them better lunch options but to leave little notes of empowerment in their lunchboxes. That is why I wanted to share these Girls’ Lunchbox Additions To New Year Off Right.
It is amazing how one little note on one of the new Nature Valley Soft-Baked Filled Squares (the girls love the honey peanut butter!) or a Peanut Butter Chocolate Layered Granola Nut Bar (you can also find these in an Almond Butter variety) can make such a positive impact in my girls’ days.
Just in case you haven’t seen these all *new* Nature Valley products at Walmart, they are now available in two flavors for each variety. I purchased the Nature Valley Soft-Baked Filled Squares with Honey Peanut Butter and the Peanut Butter Chocolate Layered Granola Nut Bar which features lots of peanut butter and chocolate.
These products are available in 5 and 10 ct boxes and make for some yummy lunchbox additions.
While I was at Walmart I also picked up some other great lunchbox additions, such as, Great Value brand Pretzels, Water, Yogurt, and Raisins.
These all are staples in my Girls’ Lunchbox Additions to New Year off Right. Of course, you can also add these items to boys’ lunchboxes, or maybe even your own, but today I am focusing on uplifting my girls.
My girls love their pretzels so much so I usually portion them off into zippered bags and add a note or sticker to the bag.
Colorful straws to make their water more fun are also added. I have sooo many of these for every season too. They are also found conveniently at Walmart.
Sometimes I even include little prizes in my Girls’ Lunchboxes. Today, I left a fun pencil for each of them because I know they go through them quickly at school.
They have water canteens, but it all depends on if they remembered to bring them home or not. Thankfully, Great Value Water bottles save the day quite a bit!
Fresh produce is something I vowed to add to my girls’ lunchboxes daily.
It helps keep their digestive systems in tip-top shape.
I like to balance our their lunchboxes with nutritious snacks/meals. A typical day might look like a salad, water, pretzels, raisins, and snack bar. They are sooo in love with the Nature Valley Soft-Baked Filled Squares in Honey Peanut Butter. After enjoying a few myself I can see why. These have definitely earned their spot on our weekly shopping list. I attached a cute little not to each that says something to the effect of You Rock, or You Got This!
These notes take me like 1 minute to construct and I use tape to adhere them to the bars.
I truly believe that having well-balanced lunches help my girls to achieve great things and keep them energized throughout their day!
