We are Tom’s of Maine Goodness Circle Ambassadors and received product and compensation. All views are that of our own.
In 2015, some health issues led Jared and I to make some changes to the products our family used daily. Our very first change was swapping out chemical-filled toothpaste for natural, earth-friendly Tom’s of Maine Toothpaste, and the rest was history. We instantly fell in love with the way our mouths felt, and how our oral care efforts blossomed into better dental visits.
After realizing how amazing Tom’s of Maine Antiplaque Toothpaste was, we moved onto trying their natural Deodorant Stick in Long-Lasting Wild Lavender, and Apricot. I admit, it took a while for our armpits to detox and transition, but the fact that we were using aluminum-free deodorant without chemicals made me very content in trying.
Flash forward 3 years later, and we now consider ourselves a Tom’s of Maine family that typically opts for their products whenever possible. My kids love their Silly Strawberry Toothpaste, and I really love their Tom’s of Maine Whitening Toothpaste, underarm products, and their hair care line—have you smelled how amazing the scents are?
Basically, all their stuff makes me feel better about my daily routine knowing that I am not only using what is best for my body but what is best for the environment.
We also love that they are a part of TerraCycle which turns some of their packaging into fun things like pencil pouches and purses!
Besides initially seeking out the Tom’s of Maine brand for their well-being reasons, we had no idea that for the last 48 years, they have given 10% of their profits to help both people and the planet–that is huge and makes me happy to spend a little more on their brands!
Many of you know that last year we moved to a new home with a larger yard. Our home abuts beautiful wetlands on one side that really have changed my mind set about my carbon footprint impacts the earth. I once was admittedly only buying stuff for the deals, and never really thought of the environment.
Selfish, I know! After exploring wild streams, seeing frogs, deer, turtles, rabbits and more thrive in nature I have become more aware of my actions. Now, I try to use products like Tom’s of Maine that come in recycled packaging, can be recycled, or upcycled. While we are not yet a fully 100% green home, it is our goal to slowly continue to move in the right direction. Below are our family’s most-loved Tom’s products.
We joined the Tom’s of Maine Goodness Circle to help inspire you ALL to make small changes to your daily self-care routine that can make positive impacts on preserving our beautiful earth.
