Easy Grilled Chicken, Steak, and Veggies
The heat has officially been turned up here in Massachusetts. It went from spring to summer instantly, and totally caught most of us off guard! My home is super steamy, and I have not even had a chance to put my air conditioners up. That means lots of outdoor lounging and dinner made possible by the grill.
There is no way I am even going to think about turning my stove on with an already 84 degree home! Days like these remind me how fortunate I am to have a home, yard, and a glass of quality wine to enjoy before and during dinner. My recent love is from Ribera Del Duero y Rueda Wine. Their red and white wine is the perfect way to relax and enjoy a summer night or day!
Similar to the Spanish heritage, I am from Portuguese decent where a good glass of wine is always welcomed. Wine was always an integral part of a meal for my father’s side. Almost every meal is served with wine, and bread which is a staple. My dad even grew his own wine grapes and looked forward to making his very own sweet wine each season. Now that my father is passed, whenever I drink a glass of wine I do so in his memory because I know at one point, he enjoyed it too.
For over 2,000 years winemakers from Ribera and Rueda– located in northwest Spain and only about an hour away from Madrid have cultivated whats new and popular in every vineyard and vintage they produce. They are all about popping open a bottle of wine for enjoyment, a party or even with a meal pairing.
They produce both Rueda Verdejos made from white grapes- bright, crisp, and creative. They also make Ribera del Duero which is crafted from red grapes-bold, rugged, and ripe. I myself prefer the Rueda Verdejos because white wine is more my thing. My husband on the other hand is more a Rueda Verdejos kind of guy, and prefers this type with a meal.
Speaking of meals, we are all about lots of grilled flavors, but very minimal effort around here. I swear, the heat sucks up all our ambition or maybe it is the wine–just kidding! Anyhow, we decided to pair our Ribera Del Duero y Rueda Wine with some Grilled Chicken, Steak, and Veggies to make a 30 minute meal.
