Have you ever felt so sluggish that getting through your day felt like a challenge? Maybe your energy level starts to sink mid-day and you could use something other than a coffee? If so, I have the suggestions on ways to feel more energized that actually work! With a few of these easy tips, you too can start to feel more lively.
As a busy mom to three young kids, my day can get quite hectic. Chasing a now 4-year-old around the home and making sure he stays clear of mischief is already a job in itself. Between my work life obligations, family needs, and hectic home life; my days are long and super draining at times. While I do love my job to pieces, staying energetic and enthusiastic is key. No one wants to work with a miserable, zombie blogger, and I do not blame them!
So, if you too are feeling lack luster or drained, I want to try to help you! These easy ways to feel more energized actually do work, but you need to remember to do them. Creating a habit of each of these energizing tips will give you optimal results.
Drink More Water: I know this may sound like an obvious tip, but I assure you staying hydrated is key! When I do not get in my daily water in-take I feel like I haven’t slept in days and get extreme brain-fog. I love to add citrus slices of lime, and lemon to add an extra energetic zing to my sometimes “boring” water.
Try Energems: If you are looking for an easy boost of energy that is quite tasty and super portable, then you must try Energems. These bite-sized chocolate energy gems can be found in the sports nutrition aisle near the pharmacy at Walmart. Three Energems contain 133 mg of caffeine, which is equivalent to a large cup of coffee. You can take one, two, or three Energems depending on what kind of energy boost you desire.
With only 50 calories per serving, these gems are free of artificial colors, flavors and preservatives. Energems contain nutritional support from vitamins B and D – B vitamins help support physical energy. They boast a full day’s supply of vitamins B6 and B12, plus they’re fortified with folate (B9) and niacin (B3). In addition, one serving of Energems provides 400 IU of vitamin D, the “sunshine vitamin,” to meet 100% of your daily requirement and help support a healthy mental state. † *This statement has not been evaluated by the FDA. My favorite reason to take Energems is because they do not give me the jitters or energy crashes like my beloved iced coffee can cause. While I do love my iced coffees on occasion, I admit that they do cause horrific crashes later in the day which make me lazy and sluggish. That is why I prefer Energems if I need an energy boost to finish my day off. You too can try Energems hassle-free because for a limited time, they are offering a full $6 rebate when you buy one bottle at Walmart!
Put More Fruits and Veggies on Your Plate: Our diets can play a huge role in our energy levels and overall well-being. Adding more of color to your plate can fuel your body correctly. I know it is easier said than done, but avoiding foods like sugar, and fried foods can help greatly.
Exercise: About 7 1/2 months ago I made a promise to myself that I would work out at least 6 days a week no matter how busy I got. I have to say, I am not only down 25 lbs but my energy level has improved overall. On days when I work out harder I surprisingly feel more energetic at home. Currently, I do 30 mins of cardio and weight training.
Take your Vitamins: I use to be the worst vitamin consumer ever! It was as if I was hoarding vitamins and supplements rather than taking them. I had this special cabinet that was packed to the brim with all sorts of bottles. Now, I have gotten my vitamin routine down-path and invested in a pill holder that actually sorts my vitamins out by day. I take multi-vitamins, joint health, heart-health, and Vitamin C supplements.
If you cannot tolerate traditional B6 and B12 Energems contain a full day’s supply of these vitamins. One serving of Energems also contains 400 IU of vitamin D, the “sunshine vitamin,” to meet 100% of your daily requirement and help support a healthy mental state. † So you might want to make the switch to Energems verses consuming traditional forms of B6, B12, and Vitamin D.*This statement has not been evaluated by the FDA.
