Now that the warm spring weather is finally rolling in, everyone in our family has been enjoying the outdoors. Both my kids, and dog could spend all day basking in the sun’s warmth and playing if I’d let them. We have even been grilling a lot more to celebrate the gorgeous weather we have been receiving. After a long winter stuck inside, I can’t say that we do not appreciate it time outdoors!
Speaking of grilling, isn’t it so funny how dogs can sit so patiently near the grill with hopes that a piece of chicken or steak might fall onto the patio for them to gobble up? Despite her wishes, my dog has yet to receive that accidentally fallen piece of meat. Thankfully for her, we recently picked up some new Nudges® Grillers and Sizzlers at Walmart. They are made in flavors like Chicken, Steak, Chicken & Bacon, and even Beef & Cheese which are my dog’s absolute favorite flavors.
Let me tell you, this little pooch might be adorable, but she is not the only picky eater in my home! This little fur ball has snubbed sooo many treats in her 2 years with us! I now know for sure that she despises dog bones, biscuits, organic treats, and even dog cookies! I have given away so many treats to family dogs than I could count. However, when I purchases Nudges® Grillers and Sizzlers, I knew she’d love them!
Just one look at both Nudges® Grillers and Sizzlers and you can tell that meat is the first ingredient in these snacks. They are made in the USA which is extremely important to me after all those foreign pet recalls. Plus they are void of any artificial fillers or ingredients, and have a real meaty texture and appearance.
Nudges Grillers and Sizzlers are ideal for pets that love human grilled food! Just ask my little Beasley when I rewarded her with both a Grillers Steak, and Sizzlers Beef & Cheese treat. She got two treats because she was extra good outside and didn’t bark at my neighbor’s dog-haha!
Boy, did she love them too!
My kids typically are allowed to reward our dog with 1-2 treats per day after she “goes” outside or does something exceptionally well. Our dog has had her issues with the bathroom but after some positive reinforcement, rewards, and routine, she has been doing a great job letting us know when she wants to head outdoors. I find rewarding her with more nutritious treats like Nudges® and letting her know she is loved has come a long way. Don’t these look like they also came hot off the grill?
One thing I can’t stand about dog treats is when I have 3-4 different bags opened at once. My kids are notorious for leaving them open, and all around. That is why I prefer them in a neat jar in one central location. I guess you could say that is what also inspired me to make this quick DIY Dog Treat Mason Jar.
- Large mason jar & rim
- cupcake liners
- chalkboard label & chalk
- Nudges® Grillers & Sizzlers
I always have a ton of mason jars around, and craft supplies so this was basically a cost-free project besides the treats. I pretty much just adhered the chalkboard label, tied the tag on with some twine, and used the cupcake topper are the lid. These treats will last no more than 3-5 days so I can wash out, and easily change the wrappers.
Next time, I plan on filling my DIY Dog Treat Mason Jar with Nudges Jerky Cuts Value Size (36 ounces) so it can last me at least 2-3 weeks. They can also be found alongside Nudges® Grillers and Sizzlers at Walmart.
