Feeling blue that it is officially time to take down your Christmas tree? Don’t be! Why not keep it up for Valentine’s Day? If you have any red, pink, white, or lavender décor, you can easily recreate this tree with a minimal investment.
Last year, you might recall I officially shared my first public Valentine’s Day tree. I was able to score a tree at 90% off at Target. Between that tree and the 90% off pink ornaments from Hobby Lobby, the tree was pretty much a $50 investment which is small in comparison to most home décor purchases. I was also able to use that tree for this years farmhouse Buffalo Check Christmas Tree.
Decorating a White Tree
However, since I like to mix things up, I wanted something different for this years Valentine’s Day Tree idea. I once again headed to Target during the after Christmas sales and was able to *eventually* (it took 6 trips of staking out the tree) score this White Christmas Tree for just $35–it was originally $350!!
The exact tree model is the following which I hope will once again be in-stock during the Christmas season. Philips 7ft Pre-Lit Slim White Iridescent Tinsel Douglas Fir Artificial Tree LED Rainbow Lights.
I really like this tree even though it has more of a light grey look. The lights are really pretty in real life, but look almost purple with this décor. I assure you, they are all colors in-person.
Ornaments
Since most of my ornaments were from last year, I wanted to share some that you could use to replicate my look. These are available on Amazon.com.
- Pink Glitter Hearts
- Shatterproof Pink Glitter Balls

Decorating a Christmas Tree For Other Seasons
When it comes to decorating your Christmas Tree for Valentine’s Day there are some simple rules to follow.
Colors
Shades of pink, white, red, and lavender are perfect to represent this holiday. We used a mix of pinks and reds for this tree which really popped against the iridescent white tree.
Layering
When I decorate my trees, I always like to start out with a garland to help fill in any bare spots the tree might have. For this tree, it was pretty full but I still used some tulle.
I also love to mix and match different sized and colored ornaments. My goal is to fill almost every branch with an ornament. This creates a nice overall look that is cohesive.
Textures
I not only layered different ornaments, but I mixed textures. There are soft and fluffy pink and white tulle balls, hard, shiny gem ornaments, foil hearts, glittery ornaments, and flat, smooth ornaments. I think straying from just a ball or heart shape helps keep the eye happy with the satisfying final look.
Would you believe that I have 3 Valentine’s Day trees in my home? I will be sharing another look soon! Ironically, I only light 1/3 of the trees because I don’t want my neighbors to think I am too nuts! They glisten naturally during the day and I don’t spend too much time on my main level at night anyhow.
More Tree Inspo
Head back in time to peep my Valentine’s Day Christmas Tree look from last year. I think I prefer this year’s look much more! For one the red tree collar I am using is so much better than this tree skirt.
