Can you believe that school is already back in session? Seriously, where did the summer go? I swear I was just vacuuming sand out of my car from lazy days at the beach and now I am sucking up after school snack crumbs. The truth is, I miss the summer and the lack of schedules. I yearn for later nights, BBQs, and that smell of pool chlorine.
I confess, it was probably the hardest year for me to adjust to back to school season. Sure, I did try to prepare ahead by buying tons of clothes, supplies, and snacks for my kids, but mentally I was just not there. Call me stubborn, or old fashion but changing my schedule is quite difficult. I would rather stomp in the corner and cry to stay up and watch my summer shows verses pack lunches.
Despite the adjustments, I am getting by and I have my new determination and routine to thank for that. Want to know my 5 Healthy Lifestyle Changes to Help you Adjust to Back to School Season? Here they are in no particular order. You’re welcome in advance…
Set a Bedtime: Bedtime routines are not just for kids these days. Sure, it would be cool to stay up all night, but our kids depend on us to take care of them. We all know how demanding they can be once school starts back up so being well rested is a must! Getting those ZZZzzzs and going to bed at a decent time will help you to tackle your day.
Keep Hydrated: Coffee may be a savior when tackling that daily to-do list, but drinking water is very important. Without water hydration, you can get dehydrated, bloated, and very irritable. Believe me, I have been there, done that! Consider adding fruit to your water to make it more enjoyable.
Take Your Vitamins: This may be obvious, but even I admit to slacking on this crucial regimen. I recently re-stocked some supplements I was low on at Walmart. I purchased some Vitamin D3, Co Q-10, and Vitamin B12 Adult Gummies from the Sundown Naturals® brand. Similar to a child, I prefer gummy vitamins because it gives me the incentive to want to take them. Plus, I do not get horse pills stuck in my throat when I am on the go.
The beauty about purchasing and consuming Sundown Naturals® Adult Gummies from Walmart is that they are free of dairy, gluten, and artificial flavors◊. Plus, they are available in many supplement types, gummy, or traditional forms and they are priced right. I especially love the D3 gummies because they offer support for my immune system.
Outfit Preparation: Skip that blank stare and indecisiveness in the morning on what to wear. Prepare you and your family’s outfits the night before. This will keep the mornings less stressful and hectic. I place my children’s folded outfits, underwear, and socks on top of their dressers the night before. No more “I can’t find my socks, or my tan skirt” chaos in the mornings.
Meal Prep: To make the most of my days, I like to meal prep not only the kid’s lunches for school but my own. Cutting up extra veggies sticks, batch cooking boiled eggs, and portioning out snacks saves time, money, and sanity. There is nothing worse than trying to whip up a lunch for your kids when the clock is ticking quickly.
