Now that Easter is roughly one month away, and the spring season is near, I am super excited! There is not a season I love more than the spring! Baby chicks, fresh flowers, and budding trees are enough to boost my mood and get me outdoors. Plus, Easter is right around the corner and falls on April 5th this year! To celebrate, this past Sunday, my kids and I made some very delicious Colorful Easter Blondie Brownies.
We recently started our Sunday morning on the right foot with some very delicious, protein-packed Bacon, Egg, and Cheese HOT POCKETS® Breakfast Bites. This delicious breakfast solution can be found in the frozen Breakfast isle of our local Walmart store. I guess there were a ton of other eager folks at our local Walmart because the shelves were almost wiped cleaned of Breakfast Bites!
We hardly have time to get ready for church on Sunday mornings so having a hearty and easy to prepare breakfast for my family is amazing! Plus, the cheesy, bacon, egg and flaky crust are so incredibly tasty; I cannot wait to try all the varieties.
After church, Sunday afternoons at our home are all about baking sweet treats, which my kids are always happy to help with. This past weekend, we decided to make some blondie brownies because they are so versatile, and really easy to make. The addition of NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Spring Morsels made our blondies super colorful, and very festive. You too could Bake Some Love™ this spring with NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Spring Morsels because they are the perfect addition to not only brownies but also cookies, cakes, and more!
Our Colorful Easter Blondie Brownies were so easy to make because NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Spring Morsels had the perfect mix of spring cheeriness in every bag! I even reserved some of the morsels to make a melted chocolaty drizzle over my brownies. These colorful swizzles really complemented the little Easter confections I placed on top. My kids really enjoyed them, as they helped decorate for Easter.I really hope you all decide to make a batch with your family too, and share your thoughts on them!
- 1 bag of NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Spring Morsels -divided
- 2 1/4 cup unbleached flour
- 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- Pinch of Kosher Salt
- 1 3/4 cup Light Brown Sugar
- 1 1/2 sticks of unsalted butter
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees.
Line a 9 x 9 Pyrex with Parchment paper so that the sides overlap a little (makes cutting them easy)
Combine powdered ingredients all together in one bowl
In another bowl, beat the butter, extract and brown sugar; slowly add eggs
Gradually beat in flour mixture (I do this all by hand)
Fold in 1 cup of NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Spring Morsels
Pour batter into parchment lined Pyrex
Bake for 25 minutes at 350 or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the brownie is removed clean.
Allow brownies to cool for at least hour
Meanwhile, separate at least 1/4 cup each of yellow, and pink morsels to melt for drizzling on top of cooled brownies. I microwaved mine for two 20 second intervals and placed the chocolate in a zippered bag with the end snipped off to make the drizzles. I then cut the brownies, and placed little Easter chicks and bunnies on top of each.
These colorful Easter Blondie Brownies were the perfect snack for my family! I will definitely be making them again because they were so easy and the perfect spring snack! HOT POCKETS® Breakfast Bites would also make a great Easter Breakfast before all those egg hunts!
