If your kids love the Diary of a Wimpy Kid book series by Jeff Kinney they will love this spin-off book, Diary of an Awesome Friendly Kid: Rowley Jefferson’s Journal.
My kids and I are huge fans of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid book series. While we do not own every book in the series, it sure makes for some fun library trips to see which ones are available.
Apparently, most kids in our area love these books so much, that they are always on hold or waitlisted! But, that makes reading them much more exciting for my 3 children.
Did you know that Greg Heffley will be returning this Summer in Diary of a Wimpy Kid #14? We are excited for a new book and we likely be purchasing it from Amazon!
About Diary of an Awesome Friendly Kid: Rowley Jefferson’s Journal.
Introducing the newest Wimpy Kid author—Rowley Jefferson! Rowley’s best friend Greg Heffley has been chronicling his middle-school years in thirteen Diary of a Wimpy Kid journals . . . and counting.
But it’s finally time for readers to hear directly from Rowley in a journal of his own. In Diary of an Awesome Friendly Kid, Rowley writes about his experiences and agrees to play the role of biographer for Greg along the way. (After all, one day Greg will be rich and famous, and everyone will want to know his life’s story.)
But Rowley is a poor choice for the job, and his “biography” of Greg is a hilarious mess.
Our Thoughts on the Book
My daughter just finished reading this book and found it to be so funny! I cannot recount the amount of times she ran up to me to re-read me some excerpts or show me some hilarious illustrations or comics from the book.
Khloe is not the most enthusiastic reader, so I really love how this book captivated her and kept her attention. The kid-friendly illustrations, and comical interactions between Jeff and Greg made the book addicting. Although the book is a fun, hot mess express at times, kids between the ages of 7-12 will LOVE it!
My Daughter is an Awesome, Friendly Kid too!
Many of you might not know this but my daughter Khloe has a rare syndrome and multiple heart defects. However, it doesn’t stop her from being a little jokester comedian that often lands her in punishment.
Khloe is actually a peanut in size, but her HUGE personality and bold attitude packs quite the punch! She is genuinely quick witted, intelligent, and loves to prank people. Her little outgoing personality has me thinking she might just be a performer someday since she already writes her own songs!
She also loves to draw little comics and has the funniest illustrations ever– kinda like the drawings in Rowley Jefferson’s Journal.
