DIY: Inexpensive Valentines Day Treat Bags
Are you looking for a great place to purchase supplies to make your child’s Valentines Day Treat Bags? I know my daughter loves the fact that I can make cute, yet inexpensive seasonal goodies for all her classmates. My secret for savings big bucks while still making generous goodie bags is Oriental Trading Company! For years they have been my all time favorite place to buy party supplies, goody bag staples, and crafts for my little ones. I love their vast selection of items, prices, and their quick, and accurate shipping.
Since Valentines Day is coming up rather quickly, I wanted to share this quick DIY courtesy of the folks at Oriental Trading. I have broken down the price of my bags to show you all that making treat bags does not have to break the bank. My daughter has 12 children in her class so I am going off that number in my price break down.
Supplies needed for Inexpensive Valentine’s Day Treat Bags:
- Valentine Bags with header cards {12} $2.39 per dozen
- Tart SweetHearts Valentine Candy {36 piece} $15.00
- Chocolate Lips *I also had some SweetWorks foiled hearts on hand {33 pieces} $5.75
- Pencils already had *you can add pens, pencils, tattoos, stickers, drawings, little cards-see what you have on hand
Total: $23.14 with items to spare..so roughly $1.92 per bag for 12!! This is super cheap in my opinion, and will bring lots of joy to little hearts! My daughter is so excited to pass these treat bags out! I totally suggest you check out Oriental Trading Company to see all the amazing supplies you can find for your classroom, party, and home!
The beauty of this project is that anyone can do it!! The Valentine’s Bags with header cards take all the work out of printing and designing your own bag cards. For under $3, I’m not sure there really is a cheaper alternative? Between ink, and nice cardstock I think this would cost me about $5 to make these myself–possibly more?! These Valentines bags also have adhesive stickers to seal them. I stapled them for extra protection, but that was also an added plus!
I added three chocolates, 2 boxes of hearts, and 2 pencils to each bag. I thought that was a generous amount of goodies to make her friends smile. I really like the way they came out, and for the price this project was right up my frugal alley!
If you want to recreate your very own Valentines Day Treat Bags for Under $2 Each–head over to Oriental Trading–they have such great deals, and promos going on right now!! You can also connect with them on Facebook & Twitter for all the latest updates!
