Gluten Free Pizza Hut Cheese Bread Recipe
Being on a gluten free diet doesn’t have to mean the end of all things delicious. Just ask my friend Becky over at Week99er who makes tons of great gluten free meals, and baked treats. I just had to try out her recipe for Pizza Hut Cheese Bread made with gluten free ingredients! I made this recipe twice now and have to suggest using a quality organic non fat dry milk. Carefully following the directions is also a must for the ultimate perfect gluten free Pizza Hut Cheese Bread.
A few things I love about this recipe is that you can really tailor the bread flavor to your liking. Add extra garlic powder, some Italian spices and Parmesan cheese to to really kick this copycat Pizza Hut Cheese Bread into full gear! My husband and daughter have to eat a gluten free diet and were so sad to miss out on this favorite junk food treat. Now however, they do not have too thanks to this recipe!
Ingredients needed to make Gluten Free Pizza Hut Cheese Bread:
- 2 tablespoons active dry yeast
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 cup organic non-fat dry milk
- 1 1/2 cups white rice flour *set 1/4 cup aside
- 1/2 cup tapioca starch
- 1 1/4 cup potato flour
- 1 1/2 cups of warm tap water
- 1 stick melted butter
- 16 ounces of mozzarella cheese
- minced garlic or garlic powder *cater to what you enjoy
- 1/4 cup fresh grated Parmesan cheese
Combine your yeast, and warm water. Gently stir, and let it sit on the counter for 10 minutes
Add your yeast and water to your stand mixer, add sugar, salt, and dry milk powder-mix well
*SLOWLY* add in your flours 1/2 cup at a time. FOllOW this carefully or you will mess up the dough-trust me! Add in the last 1.4 cup of rice flour.
Melt half of you butter and coat the walls of a deep dish Pyrex with the butter
Pour your dough in and make sure it is spread evenly.
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees
Let your dough rise for 10 minutes
Add the rest of the melted butter to the top of your dough
Top with your garlic powder (or minced garlic), spices and cheeses
Bake for 30 minutes-your cheese will be golden brown
Allow to cool, and then slice up your Gluten Free Pizza Hut Cheese Bread to your liking.
