Grilled Peaches with Honey & Ricotta: A Lighter Tailgating Dessert
The tailgating has officially started here in New England. Our team had been playing pretty good and we are amped up for game days. While we have been doing mostly homegating these days due to our kids, game days are still as tasty as ever. This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Save-A-Lot. I admit, most of our game days snacking have not always been the healthiest. Salty, fried, heavier foods are normally our thing, but we have been trying to lighten things up. Swapping grilled, baked, and fresher snacking into our homegating experience has been refreshing.
I just hate feeling so sluggish and weighed down while cheering on our team.
Yesterday, I visited my local Save-A-Lot store in Fall River, MA. It has been around for over 20 years and recently was remodeled for an even better shopping experience. I love how they have such a variety of fresh produce and diverse finds for great prices.
My mission at Save-A-Lot was to pick up some fresh produce to grill. I wanted a healthier, better for us sweet treat for tailgating time and I totally achieved it and CANNOT wait to share the recipe. In fact, this might be the tastiest, fruit-based dessert I have enjoyed in a while.
We grill meats, veggies, but often overlooked grilled fruit. Fresh fruit like peaches are so good grilled! The peaches take on a crisp, caramelized outer while keeping all the juicy goodness inside. My idea was to grill peaches and top them with fresh cinnamon-ricotta, walnuts, and honey!
The best part is that all these ingredients can be purchased at Save-A-Lot on the cheap!
I picked up some peaches, honey, cinnamon (I go through this like water), walnuts, and ricotta to create this recipe.
Since we are getting Tropical Depression effects from Jose, I grilled on my indoor grill. This still produced a tasty, grilled peach and proves that grilling can be done any time of year!

As you can see, these grilled peaches with ricotta look amazing! It was kind of dark here to capture the perfect picture, but I assure you the taste was amazing! I only spent about $10 and my ingredients can serve a small crowd!!!
Sure, this might seem like a fancy dessert, but you can actually prep the 1 min cinnamon ricotta ahead of time. Grilling is pretty quick too so be prepared to be eating a yummy dessert fairly quick!
Grilled Peaches with Honey & Ricotta: A Healthier Tailgating Dessert
- 5 peaches halved with seed removed
- 1 tablespoon butter or coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 15 ounce package ricotta
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 3 tablespoons walnuts
- Heat grill to medium heat and add butter. Place halved peaches cut side down. Cook peaches 3-5 mins per side. Meanwhile, in a bowl combine ricotta, cinnamon. Top each peach with an even amount. Drizzle honey over each peach and top with walnuts. Enjoy! Remove from grill
