When it comes to my relationship with my mom, it has had its ups and downs. She and my father had me super young so growing up, she is more like a big sister verses a traditional mom figure. Actually, it is weird to think that I am in my early thirties and she is in her late forties–that is how close we are in age. Since I am no means a cheesy, or overly emotional person when it comes to holidays like Mother’s Day, I sort of freeze up at gift giving time.
Seriously though, have you ever felt a little awkward when it came to Mother’s Day? I sort of feel weird because I didn’t grow up with a lot of affection. I am not a cold person, but mushy, squishy stuff is just not my thing. Thankfully, Hallmark literally relieves most of my stresses with their perfect cards. Actually, Hallmark has the perfect Mother’s Day card for all the special moms in my life including me (at least according to Jared).
This past weekend, my family visited our local Walgreens to pick up some groceries and Mother’s Day cards. I hate waiting for the last minute to buy cards because vast selections can turn into slim pickings. Our local store has one of the largest, and prettiest Hallmark Card displays ever. The best part is they also have Hallmark Signature cards and tons of others at all different price points.
Personally, for my mom I chose a Hallmark Signature card because it is like a gift in itself. The card I chose is so pretty and one that I will personally hand her. It features a mom with a pretty cloth skirt on and inside it has a removable handkerchief. My mom taught me to cook very well so the card was so fitting for her. Plus, it was not overly sentimental for our relationship.
While we were at Walgreens the kids also picked up some Mother’s Day Hallmark cards for me, Jared picked out one for me, and his mom, and I bought an extra card as a “just in case” one. I love to have extra cards on hand because you never know who will visit!
As you can see, Hallmark has way more than just cards for Mother’s Day 2016 at Walgreens! These Hallmark flowers and pot were just too cute to leave behind. In fact, I made a DIY Mother’s Day flower bouquet with them. My mom is not a fan of cut flowers because they die too quickly. She is gonna LOVE this Mother’s Day flower pot we put together with her card. At under $20 her gift is pretty, touching, and was convenient for me to put together.
Honestly, I totally suggest you all head to Walgreens as soon as you can to pick out a Hallmark Signature card for all the special moms in your life. They have tons of cards to choose from and depending on the line, there are even value cards for just $.99! Personally, I rather pay a little more for the Signature cards because as mentioned, they are a gift in themselves!
