My Wintertime Solution for a Happier Dog
Thank you Hartz for sponsoring this post. Hartz Dog Pads are America’s #1 brand of dog pads and are available nationwide at Walmart, Amazon and your local grocery store.
Wintertime is my least favorite season of the year here in New England. I am not a fan of the ice-cold weather or sometimes overbearing snow. While this year has not been too wet, even one snow is too many. I guess I really wish I lived somewhere warm!
Besides having to basically shovel the longest driveway ever and travel on some of the worst kept side streets I am sharing the “ultimate cherry on top” of why I hate winter.
Ok, so my dog hates the snow just as much as I do. Like really, really hates it! In fact she won’t even step off the porch to do her duties. This is pretty much the most frustrating thing ever and had me losing my sanity.
Our dog Beasley is approaching her senior dog years and is totally not feeling as adventurous as she used to be. Back then, she would race through the snow and make little paths to use the bathroom and play. Now, I feel like I have to practically throw her off the porch to pee or poop.
There are times when she will just stand there waiting for me to open the slider to run back in and trail snow and wet slush all over. But, this little smug cookie will wait until I am upstairs and venture to the soft rugs to do her duties.
Not cool at all….I cannot even begin to tell you how many rugs she has ruined.
After pretty much having to throw out every rug I own (but like 2?), I decided that enough was enough! I researched the web and many others had this same exact winter time pet frustration.
So, like the masses, I decided that for super inclement weather, I would place a dog pad near the back door for my dog to use with hopes she would do her duties there.
But, like most people, my bargain hunting got the best of me and I ended up buying the cheapest pads I could find. They didn’t absorb her pee very well and they surely didn’t have a fresh scent like Hartz Home Protection Dog Pads. They basically let her pee run off of them causing a larger mess.
Thankfully, Hartz Dog Pads are much, much better than the cheapies I was trying to use. The lavender scented pads are designed with six layers featuring FlashDry® Gel technology that locks in moisture and allows for multiple uses.
These pads are available at stores nationwide ( Amazon, Walmart, Chewy.com, and grocers) and feature an odor eliminating capability that instantly eliminates odors and contains a fresh lavender scent for lasting freshness. This means that my dog can use the pad multiple times throughout the day rather than me having to throw them away between pees.
Hartz Dog Pads are America’s #1 brand of dog pads and are proven to outperform against competitors. I can personally attest that these are sure better than the bargain brand I was using that leaked!
Now, when it snows, I am a lot less stressed because I know my dog will not be peeing ( or pooping) around the kitchen! She knows that if a pad is laid out it is “ok” to use it. I love that Hartz Dog Pads feature patented FlashDry® Gel technology, which instantly turns liquid into gel, locking in moisture and preventing leaks and stinky smells.
And that is how Hartz Dog Pads are saving my last rugs and sanity! If you have a dog that does not like the snow or heavy rain consider using these innovative pads.
