Homemade Mother’s Day Gift Idea: Sweet Orange Energy Scrub
I am such a sucker for trying out new beauty products from small start up companies. Body Butters, masks, sugar scrubs, and cosmetics line my dresser and remind me that I *may* have a slight addiction. I have always wanted to delve into the world of making homemade soaps, balms, and scrubs. Finally, I have put my dreams into action and made my first energy scrub that I am very happy with!
Thinking of an inexpensive homemade Mother’s Day Gift idea? My Sweet Orange Energy Scrub recipe is concocted to wake your skin up, revitalize, and renew your soul. I used some after shaving, and wow…amazing! I just want to note that you must be careful in the shower or bath with any body scrub containing oil because things tend to get a bit slippery! It is an amazing exfoliate for your body, but too harsh for your face.
Since money is tight these days, homemade gifts are just so much more meaningful! I was lucky to find some awesome craft supplies in the Target Dollar spots which includes the burlap gift sack, and labels. The little jar is from Ikea and was equally inexpensive ($1). Many of you probably already have some essential oils hanging around so you could tailor this to what you have if you please.
Here is what you will need to make a month’s worth of Sweet Orange Energy Scrub – The perfect Homemade Mother’s Day Gift!
- 40 drops of Sweet Orange Essential Oil
- 3/4 Coconut Oil
- 1/3 cup sea salt
- 1/2 cup sugar
- Jar, label, bag for gifting
It is so easy to make that you literally just mix everything up, and put it in a jar! The scrub is so sweet smelling and almost natural depending on if you use white, or organic sugar! Your mom, or even yourself will love this gift! I was paying upwards of $10 per jar for this beauty must have, but not anymore! Now for a fraction of the cost I will be making all my own salt, sugar, and energy scrubs!
