How to Get a Fresh & Clean Car Without all the Effort
For the last few years my husband and I had been savings up for a vehicle that would easily fit our family of five. We each had a sedan that seated 5, but with car seats, and growing kids it just wasn’t enough! So, this past March, we decided to upgrade to a new Kia Sorrento, and we even paid it off in cash.
Having a fully paid off vehicle is such a blessing! However, it really makes you want to put in the extra effort to keep your prized asset clean, and fresh. I admit, my kids have this super power to mess up, and dirty a car in just one drive. They bring in snacks, throw there wrappers everywhere, put their little wet hand prints on the glass, and even leave crumb trails in the seats.
Thankfully, my husband put his foot down! We now keep a fresh & clean car without all the effort by enforcing rules, and setting up preventative maintenance measures. For one, we use PERK auto air fresheners. Honestly, we were so sick of those annoying dishes, or hanging air freshers that only last a few days, and get in the way. Of course we want our vehicle to smell fresh, but we prefer it to be discreet.
PERK Vent Wraps are ideal for us because once clipped into the car vent blade, they are super hard to even point out! They feature StediScent™ which really does deliver a constant flow of freshness for 15 days! Each 4 packs lasts roughly 2 months which is so amazing! With just one purchase, we can maintain a fresh car without much maintenance. We store the extra PERK Vent Wraps in the glove compartment.
Plus, what is really amazing is that a PERK Vent Wrap will work whether you car’s air is turned on or off. You also do not have to worry about any spills, drips, or sticky leaks! Of course, right now we are trying to preserve that coveted “New Car” smell so we have been using the PERK Vent Wraps in New Car scent. but decided to try something more tropical. They also come in Golden Vanilla and Caribbean Colada which is a great summer scent.
Other ways we now keep our car clean without much effort is to stick to a low-key cleaning schedule. We wash our car at least every 2 weeks unless we feel it needs an emergency wash it between. This not only keeps your car clean but it also prevent undercarriage corrosion, and loss of wax. Washing you car is super important-especially if you live in snowy climates. Salt, and sand mixed with chemicals can rapidly erode your car. It happened to my vehicle which I washed like 4 times a year!
For the interior, we shake out our car mats once per week, and give our vehicle a deep clean vacuuming every month. We also discourage eating in the car, and drinking. By placing several plastic bags in the vehicle we can also maintain any trash that may build up, and get rid of it at gas station trash barrels. I also keep a container of car cleaning wipes under my seat and quickly wipe down my dashboards when I am sitting in line at the bank.
