5 Things You Didn’t Know About CarMax
Thank you CarMax for sponsoring today’s post. All views are that of our own.
I used to think that buying a car was the hands-down most stressful purchase process ever. Having been driving since I was 16, I got my first car at 17 at a fly by night dealership. I still remember it like it was yesterday. My $3700 car was a Hyundai Accent Hatchback in black. It was a cute little car, but what the gimmicky salesman didn’t let me in on was that my 98′ model, was a flood car.
I always wondered why it was so rusty in the trunk and similar to a swimming pool everytime it rained. The car was rusting from the inside out and only lasted me 3 years despite just being one model year old.
Then, I went to another dealership and they sold me what I thought was a good car. However, from the start, it always made a funny sound when I turned left. I thought it was the tires, but no matter how many repairs I tried it always got worse.
Turns out, when I went to trade it in, it was an accident car! All those years I was riding in a car that had been in an accident on the front end side and covered up. I could not even get my full trade in value–I was so livid!
After going to a dealership that was no hassle and no frills we finally found two good cars that have been helping us to enjoy the fall sights. Now, this dealership might have been a sigh of relief, but they still were not as awesome as CarMax!
I have seen commercials on how CarMax is the nation’s largest retailer of used cars. I know they have won various awards both nationally and internationally, but I never made the visit. Now, I am kicking myself because I recently discovered they make car buying a breeze!!
It is as if they surveyed thousands of people on what they hate about buying cars, and answered every car buyer’s dreams…no joke!!
When we pulled up there were hundreds of shiny cars parked by vehicle type and size in their car yard. The building was in awesome condition, and very welcoming. When we went inside, we were greeted by the sales manager who was very friendly. His warm and welcoming personality made me feel at ease.
The best part, there were NO gimmicky sales people attacking us before we could even get a chance to breathe.
Inside, we found bright TV screens showing happy customers and lots of information on why CarMax is different than ANY other car retailer.
The sales manager explained that they work as a team and allow costumers to freely walk the car yard without them hovering.
Potential car buyers can ask for guidance if needed but there is not one harassing you to take a test drive of cars.
The coolest thing is that each car is unlocked and you can freely go in and out of each to feel the car and carefully inspect it if need be.
Each car features a no haggle price that I found to be incredibly reasonable on each model I looked at.
If you are interested in a car, simply check the front of the ground where the car is parked to get the number and let your salesperson know!
