Surviving a Road Trip with Kids
This post is sponsored by BabbleBoxx.com on behalf of Single Edition Media.
Roughly 3 weeks ago, my family embarked on a 600+ mile road trip to Williamsburg Virginia. We typically opt for a road trip vacation for our family of five because it just seems easier. Actually, let me stress that it always seems easier before we get on the road. There were many times during our travels that I wished we had flown, but that is a whole other story!
Road Trips with kids can either be super fun or a huge nightmare. We have had our shares of nightmares, but will focus on the fun for this post. The key to a surviving a road trip with kids is to be prepared. That is why I wanted to share some fun products that will help you do just that.
We recently received a Babbleboxx by Single Edition Media with some fun road trip essentials. Each of these products helps to make the experience of road tripping with kids much more pleasant.
The first product which is really refreshing for my husband and I while driving was a 3-month subscription to Audible by Amazon. If you have not heard of Audible, it is an online library of audiobooks that can be downloaded and listened to on your own time. Customers can download audiobooks from Audible to access on their iPhone, Android device, Fire tablet, iPod
or other mp3 Player.
Perfect for road trips, users can subscribe as an Audible Listener, which gives them book credits and access to short programs now playing in Channels each month for a low monthly fee.
Let’s all be honest, kids get bored so fast! What worked for the first 30 mins may not work for the next. My kids change their food preferences, interests, and habits in hours. They love to be occupied but seem to do well with puzzle-style activities. Since they get sick in the car from reading, tablet time, music, DVDs, and puzzles like Cube-Tastic 3×3 Puzzle Cube are ideal for them.
Cube-Tastic is a great puzzle cube for kids and adults alike. I love that it provides the ability to teach my kids how to solve the puzzle virtually using their app. A modern twist on a classic, the cube-tastic software scans the real-life cube, creating an exactly identical virtual copy in the game. Children can follow along with a customized, step-by-step tutorial to solve the cube themselves, creating an engaging learning experience to try over and over again.
If you have ever felt like you needed some guidance on how to solve the puzzle, the Cube-Tastic 3×3 Puzzle Cube is for you, and your next road trip!
No road trip is complete without lots of snacks! Rather than load my kids up on sugar, I prefer to give them more wholesome snacks that provide protein, and nutrition. Snacks like Chops Snack Jerky are the perfectly tasty choice. Made with only USDA Choice & Select Beef Brisket, these snacks are mighty tasty! I also love that they are nitrate-free, contain no preservatives, or MSG. They are also hand-crafted, and marinated overnight.
My son and husband LOVE beef jerky so much! They appreciate how soft, and tender Chops Snack Jerky truly is. The marinated flavor and the scent is also so enjoyable. You can find Chops Snack Jerky on Amazon, online, at at select retailers nationwide.
Emergencies- No one wants them to happen, but we all have to be prepared for them. Aside from making sure your car passed inspection before taking it on a road trip, a first aid kit, spare tire, and items like T-Rex® Tape can help you to be extra prepared in the event of an emergency.
Think broken luggage zippers – We all know we try to stuff way too much into our luggage, but what if they break on the road? T-Rex® Tape can come to the rescue! Made with super-durable, extra-thick, sun-resistant materials to work longer and hold stronger than other utility tapes.
I love that T-Rex® Tape is strong duck tape made with three layers, and is double thick. It is perfect for not only car emergency kits, but also at-home use. Small pool float holes, umbrella tears, and pipe leaks can all be possibly mended with T-Rex® Tape.
Last but not least, every road trip needs a place to stop for a hearty meal. IHOP was honestly our choice on our Virginia road trip because breakfast is served any time of the day. I love that I can get a warm stack of pancakes any time of day. Sometimes you just need to curb your sweet tooth and IHOP is perfect for that!
With locations all over the US, IHOP is the perfect, and affordable place to dine. They recently celebrated their 59th year of service and offered guests $.59 short stacks of pancakes!
When we visit IHOP it doesn’t matter if I am in MA or VA because I know I can expect the same great quality food. Our kids love the Funny Face Pancake, and I love the Country Omelette and coffee!
Visit IHOP.com to find a location nearest you! I suggest signing up for their email club because they always send out great offers!
