How have you been making the most of your summer? Have you been outdoors hiking trails, lounging on the beach or gardening? I know we have been enjoying the not so lazy days of summer by getting things done around the home, keeping active, drinking smoothies, and spending lots of time outdoors biking in scenic areas.
My husband and I are both on a mission, and the last thing we need is to be sick. Sadly, I cannot say it has not happened. I was sick about 3 weeks ago with a terribly congested cough and sore throat. I use to only get sick twice a year but I noticed this past year I was sick more often than not. No one wants to be sick in the summer so I have been taking extra measures to keep myself healthy and active.
I know I often post tasty and easy to make healthy recipes on my site, but sometimes life gets in the way and I skip breakfast or forget to take my vitamins. While I have been better about keeping up with a morning routine, some days I still slack. I think not having fresh ingredients on hand can sometimes hinder my efforts.
This past weekend, I headed to my local Walmart to buy some fresh groceries, and some Emergen-C Super Orange 30 ct.
Have you ever used Emergen-C products? I really enjoy their Raspberry product and was excited to try the Super Orange. This supplement which can be found in the Vitamin aisle at Walmart is a drink mix and can be made with water or added to a drink like my Super Orange Tropical Smoothie. It is a great drink to start you day, or to enjoy after a workout.
Smoothies are my husband and I’s main fuel to start the day. When I enjoy a fruit smoothie, I feel energized and ready to conquer my very busy days! The ability to mix flavors, fruits and even veggies are what makes smoothies a great way to start your day.

We love the tropical flair this smoothie has and the fact that we are getting lots of essential vitamins and nutrients from the ingredients.

I have been exercising a lot more lately and trying to eat healthier! I have not tried this stuff before but I think I need to add it to the list to try!
This looks delicious! I never thought to add Emergen-C to a smoothie. Yum! We enjoy going on bike rides on a local trail – this would be a great post-ride beverage. (client)
I LOVE Emergen-C but NEVER thought to put in a smoothie! Delish! The Acai Berry is my FAV!
That looks really good. I could go for one of these right about now. I love that you used the Emergen-C products with it.
I love smoothies, and I always opt for citrus flavors! Sooo good on a hot summer day! I’ll have to give this one a try because I can absolutely use a little boost of energy in my hectic day.
I never thought to use Emergen-C in food/smoothies. Great idea
I’m guilty of skipping breakfast as well sometimes. This looks like the perfect meal replacement for me and the tropical taste will make me feel like I’m at the beach :)
I do enjoy ice cold smoothies, particularly in the summer. Orange smoothies are one of my favorite flavors.
I love Emergen-C but I never thought to put it in a smoothie. What a great idea! I am guilty of skipping breakfast too so this would be perfect for me.
Yum, that smoothie looks delish. I haven’t made one for a while now this Summer, so I’d better catch up! I like how you used the mint for garnishing too, it adds a nice complimentary color.
I am going to need one of these daily, especially when school starts up again. The germs are always crazy!
This is a great way to get your vitamin C. I love to start the day with a smoothie. I will have to try this recipe.
That’s such a brilliant way to get your C in. It looks soooo delish, Amy!
