Sweet and savory mini sliders using Thanksgiving day leftovers. Featuring a sweet Hawaiian bun, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and turkey! Now that Thanksgiving has come and gone, I have some massive leftovers! Honestly, I must have thought I was feeding a small army on Thanksgiving when I decided to cook a an 18 pound turkey, six pounds of stuffing, and tons of fixings for just 6 people. My gosh is my refrigerator and freezer are still loaded to the max! I really needed some inspiration for leftovers, and found some on the Kraft Cooking Up Good website.
So far I have reheated the meal as is, made turkey salad, turkey pot pie, and most recently some Mini Turkey Sliders. They came out so darn good and were the perfect size for lunch or even a snack. Plus, the are kid friendly and contain a little of all the main stars of a Thanksgiving meal. These days, we just cannot waste or throw out food because we are sick of it. It is my job as a “savvy” mom to recreate and rehash what we have in our fridge. Thanksgiving leftovers have been such a blessing to us this year because we get to try many new creations.
Do you have some extra turkey or stuffing lying around? Maybe you ran out of stuffing and need more? How about some Stove Top Stuffing for Turkey? I generally make a family recipe for my Thanksgiving, but sometimes I do not make enough since it is so popular and tasty. Thankfully, Stove Top Stuffing is reasonably priced, available at stores like Walmart, and is so delicious. It was the main star of my Mini Turkey Sliders, and really complemented the turkey, and Cranberry sauce.
With leftovers, sometimes the white meat turkey can tend to be a little dry. That’s ok because the addition of some Kraft Mayonnaise can really add the perfect flavor and moisten up your turkey breast. this product can be found in the dressing aisle at your local Walmart in a variety of sizes. I smeared some on our Hawaiian sweet buns before adding some white meat turkey and boy was it so delicious! The sweet and savory pairings of each ingredient made these little innovative sliders a great lunch or appetizer ideas for game day!
