The Pros and Cons of Owning a Cricut Explore
“We received a complementary Cricut Explore and Bluetooth adapter to perform this review. All views expressed are that of our own.”
Are you an avid crafter, scrapbook, or card maker? Perhaps you have always wanted to make your very own stickers, or vinyl wall decals? If so, you might want to consider purchasing a Cricut Explore because it really is a crafter’s dream. We recently received one to review, and it has been a great learning experience, and crafting tool thus far!
Cricut Explore Set-up:
The Cricut Explore was super easy to setup. We got the Bluetooth adapter so we could use it with our iPad which makes things super convenient. We downloaded the Cricut Design app from the Apple App Store, and followed the instructions. We did have to connect the Cricut to our laptop to download the most current firmware, but that was as simple as plugging it into the laptop with the included USB cable, and letting it download the update automatically.
- You can make your own scrapbook cut outs, tee shirt designs, vinyl decals, stickers, decorative accents, cupcake toppers, and more.
- Machine is easy to set up
- Bluetooth adapter makes access and designing projects easy.
- Reduces clutter from stamps, scissors, and papers punches
- Can design unique graphics
Price-this machine retails for $200 and can be purchased on Amazon or at craft stores like Michael’s
Comes with virtually nothing, and everything costs a pretty penny!
You have to pay for a subscription for designs
You have to pay for premium design cartridges.
You will end up spending a pretty large investment if you want to make anything nice!
Basically, everything you need to use the Cricut costs money..and it can become quite the money pit! Since Cricut items are not eligible for Michael’s Arts & Crafts discounts you might want to purchase all your Cricut Explore needs on Amazon. They are like 505% cheaper than most craft stores anyhow, and many are Prime elegible!
Overall, I can honestly say that while it is a rather large investment, I have been enjoying my Cricut explore, and I feel as if it is an asset to my crafty life.
