Halloween is one of my family’s favorite times of the year. We just love how much it brings out the fun & creative elements that are in each of us. Some of us like creepy costumes, while others prefer cute and fun costumes. This year, we headed back to Savers to piece together some thrifty & creative costumes for Halloween 2018. Did you know that Savers and Value Village have knowledgeable costume consultants on-hand to help put together your costume look?
Let’s explore what thrifty Halloween costumes we put together! Check out last year’s Savers Halloween Costumes.
Ok, so for starters we headed to Savers with blank slates. The kids pretty much knew if they wanted to be something scary or something fun so we had that part down. We browsed the super extensive aisles of costumes to get an idea of what they had.
Let’s just say they had a TON as you can see from our video below.
Savers has Halloween costumes for men, women, kids, and even pets!
Racks were filled with fun character finds, classics, and even “thrifty costumes” for the entire family sorted out by men’s, women’s, and children.
I love Savers because they always have the coolest modern and vintage finds. I was able to score a modern thrifty costume for my son–he is one of his favorite building bricks– total price: $10.99!
Like most young kids, my son loves all things building bricks and people!
You bet he is excited to be a little orange building brick. I mean, how funny and cute is this costume? I can hardly take it!
My oldest knew she wanted to be something pretty and sparkly, but we had no idea it would be a butterfly.
We initially discovered the beautiful Alterego™ Butterfly Wings, and knew we wanted to base her costume on those. Then we discovered the beautiful Alterego™ Ombre skirt, and headband. We just needed some black tights and a black, long-sleeved shirt. Thankfully, they had them waiting for us on the Girls size 10 clothing racks–score! Total $21
For my youngest daughter, the fun fluorescent pieces in the Thrifty Costumes section spoke to her…and then it hit me!
Why don’t we make you an 80’s pop singer? PERFECT!
Savers had a hot pink sports jacket, and a fun ruffled shirt, and bright purple pants.
They also had a thrifty pink hat, and tons of plastic bangles.
We added two new Alterego™ pieces –a mic, and fishnet gloves. Her outfit surely fit the bill for all things 80’s pop singer! Her total costume price was a little under $20!
For Jared, he just wanted a mask to pair up with last year’s gown which we scored for $3.99 in the Thrifty Men’s costume section.
Savers has a ton of masks that are perfect for adult costume parties! He settled on the JabberJaw mask. His costume was only $5.99!
Overall, I would say we totally made thrifty & creative costumes at Savers this year! I love how much I saved, and how we have such unique costumes. We might even have some best costume prize winners?
