Vegan Chocolate Strawberry Banana Shake #eatpurebepowerful #alohaxtarget
This post was fueled by ALOHA. All opinions expressed are that of my own.
Are you super busy and low on time during the hectic mornings, but what to eat pure, and be powerful? I know I am, so protein shakes are a must around here for breakfast and sometimes even lunch! My husband and I are gym regulars who both try to meet certain nutritional demands. Since we do not always have the time to meal prep for the week shakes are our meal of choice. I love how they take just a few minutes to prepare, and can be really tasty.
Before trying the ALOHA brand of protein which can be found at Target, I was using another popular vegan brand. While I am not a dedicated vegan, I do like to drink vegan shakes because they are loaded with plant-based proteins, and loads of nutrition without the junk. I was excited to try the ALOHA brand because it fit the nutritional profile I was seeking.
We were sent an ALOHA Chocolate Protein Shake Tin and a box of Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Protein bars. Those were much appreciated because I was getting low on protein powder and am always up for trying new brands. Plus since ALOHA is sold at Target stores finding more will not be hard.
Honestly, I am typically not a fan of chocolate protein powder and tend to opt for the vanilla flavors because I thought it was more versatile. In the past I tried a chocolate protein powder that turned me off from the flavor. I guess I really should not have held it against other brands that I had a bad experience because the ALOHA Chocolate Protein Shake was much better!
If you are an avid protein shake enthusiast you know that taste is everything when it comes to brands. Of course nutritional content is also crucial but who wants to suck down a bitter, nasty shake? Not I! The ALOHA Chocolate Protein Shake was actually really good and not at all like the other terrible brand I bought in the past. It was also a great texture, and not gritty or bitter.
So why is the ALOHA brand protein shake worthy of your money?
-
- Flavored with fair-trade organic cacao from a co-op in the Dominican Republic
-
- lightly sweetened with organic coconut sugar
-
- 18g plant-based protein per serving
-
- 100% free of harsh chemicals, fillers, artificial sweeteners, and “natural” flavors.
- Gluten free, soy free, dairy-free
Since I love adding in extra fruit and chia seeds to my protein shakes I mixed in fresh banana, strawberry and chia seeds in with the protein. This not only adds extra vitamins in but it help to make the shake last longer, and satiates your body for hours. I used organic chia seeds and organic fruit.
Here is how I prepped my Vegan Chocolate Strawberry Banana Shake:
-
- 5 large organic strawberries, halved
-
- 1 small banana sliced
-
- 1 cup of organic milk *can be regular or almond
-
- 1/2 cup Coconut Milk yogurt
-
- 1-2 scoop(s) of ALOHA Chocolate Protein (serving size is 2 scoops but I drink two a day)
- 1 tsp of organic chia seeds *these will thicken the shake the longer they sit
Add all your ingredients to the blender, and blend on shake mode for one minute.
Place in a protein shaker bottle and enjoy!
These shakes can also be enjoyed later in the day or on the go as long as you refrigerate them
If you do not have time to make a shake, ALOHA also has protein bars which contain 4 in a pack. The Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Protein bars we tried were really tasty, large, and filling. I am very impressed with the dessert-like flavor they posses and will certainly be purchasing them from Target. You can also get these products delivered right to your door from ALOHA.com

I am a huge shake person and actually prefer shakes over meals. Weird, right? But, like you said, they must taste great. This one sounds perfect and the protein powder sounds like something I could use. Thanks for sharing

Your shake definitely sounds good. I think shakes are still my favorite ways to use protein powder. My daughter uses it in her baking though!
