20 Minute Apple Pie Turnovers

20 Minute Apple Pie Turnovers are made with buttery and easy to work with crescent roll dough and a quickly sauteed apple. This recipe is perfect for breakfast, brunch, or even a fall dessert.

Ingredients

  • 1 Granny Smith Apple chopped into small chunks
  • 8 oz crescent dough
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp cornstarch

Icing

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp milk *You may need another tbsp.

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375 degrees f.  
  • Add you apples, butter, and spices to your stock put and stir for about 3 minutes over medium-high heat.  
  • Add in your cornstarch to thicken up the filling and stir well. Once, it gets thick and caramel-like remove from heat.  
  • Prepare your baking sheet with your 8 crescent rolls spread into triangles. 
  •  Add a little filling to each center of these rolls, and then fold, and tuck them.
  • Bake for 15 minutes.
  •  Allow apple turnovers to cool for 15 minutes before icing.

Icing

  • Mix together the ingredients, and allow the icing to set for 10 minutes. This thickens it so it is not too runny when icing your apple turnovers.  
  •  Use a fork dipped in the icing to swizzle each pastry.  
  • Enjoy these 20 Minute Apple Pie Turnovers with an ice cold coffee, milk, or hot coffee, and tea!
