Equipment

  • baking sheet
  • serrated bread knife

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces sour dough artisan bread
  • 1/4 cup mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup Monterrey jack cheese
  • 1/4 cup cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp scallions
  • 1 tbsp parsley
  • 1 cup Johnsonville Ground Sweet Italian Sausage

Instructions

How to Cut the Pull Apart Bread Loaf

  • With a serrated bread knife, start by slicing 1" in from the end of your bread from top to bottom. Do not cut all the way through! Repeat in the same direction slicing one inch slices across.

  • Rotate the bread and firmly and carefully hold the sliced part. You want to now slice in the other direction -1 inch slices.
  • This will now form cubes. It is very tricky to hold the bread still so be cautious, careful and if you accidentally cut out a square of bread just place it back. The cheese will be a perfect binder.

  • Once you have pull apart bread rectangles, it is time to stuff the bread with cooked sausage crumbles and cheese.

How to Stuff and Bake Pull Apart Bread

  • Cook the sausage in skillet until browned, drain excess grease.

  • Add the bread to the foil lined pan.
  • I added the cooked sausage first and then the cheese. I tried my best to tuck the cheese and sausage into the bread.

  • Wrap the top of the bread with foil.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes covered, and an additional 10 minutes uncovered to crisp up the top.

Notes

Nutritional values may differ and are meant to be a guide.
To reheat this bread, bake it for 10 minutes at 350. You can also add more cheese if you would like.
I have no idea if this freezes well to be honest.
