(Lighter!) Jalapeno Popper Dip Recipe

A rich and creamy, spicy dip that is made with canned chilies. This jalapeno popper dip features non-fat Greek yogurt, and a blend of creamy, reduced fat cheeses. It is topped with garlic toasted panko for a scrumptious game day appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 4.5 oz canned green chilies
  • 8 oz reduced fat cream cheese
  • 10.6 oz non-fat Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup low-fat shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan shredded cheese
  • 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1 jalapeno cut into circles, seeded

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a medium-sized bowl, add cream cheese, cheddar, Greek yogurt, spices (all but the 1/4 tsp garlic powder, and chilies.
  • Mix well, until combined.
  • Add mixture to a shallow baking dish.
  • Top mixture with Parmesan cheese; and set aside.
  • In a small frying pan, spray pan with non-stick and add panko crumbs with the reserved 1/4 tsp of garlic powder. Toast crumbs over medium heat until golden. Once golden, remove from heat.
  • Sprinkle bread crumbs over cheese mixture and bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees f.
  • Remove from oven and enjoy warm with your favorite dipping medium.
