Ingredients

  • 7 inch Round White Cake Frosted, white
  • 20 Orange Gumballs
  • 20 White Gumballs
  • 50 Purple Shimmer Sixlets
  • 50 Black Candy Pearls
  • 50 Green Shimmer Sixlets
  • 1/4 cup candy eyes
  • 1 cup vanilla frosting divided into 2 bowls
  • 1/2 cup orange frosting
  • 1/4 tsp Neon Purple Food dye
  • 1/4 tsp Neon Green Food dye

Instructions

  • Remove cake from store-bought packaging. Featured is a 2 layer, 7" white on white cake.
  • Divide vanilla frosting into two microwave-safe bowls.
  • Add orange frosting to a microwave-safe bowl.
  • Microwave each for 20 seconds.
  • Add neon coloring to each vanilla frosting bowl and mix.
  • Using a small spoon, carefully add the drips of the green icing to around the cake top edge making a drip effect.
  • Repeat this action with the purple color.
  • Swizzle the orange frosting across the top of the cake.
  • Using a pastry squeegee, smear only the top surface to mix the colors around. Be sure not to disturb the drip effect.
  • Once frosting is complete, it is time to decorate with the gumballs.
  • Strategically place white gumballs by carefully pressing them into the cake's frosting; repeat with the orange gumballs.
  • Next up, evenly place the green and purple shimmer Sixlets around the cake.
  • Next up, fill in the emptier spaces with the candy eyes, and then black pearls.
  • You can add plastic (non edible) spider effects to the cake (optional)
