Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking dish.
In a medium bowl, combine the Grape-Nuts cereal and warm water. Let stand for 10 minutes, or until the cereal is softened.
In a large bowl, whisk together the sugar, vanilla extract, eggs, and milk.
Add the softened Grape-Nuts cereal to the egg mixture and stir until well combined.
In a large bowl combine the sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Whisk in the milk, and melted butter and combine fully.
Pour the pudding mixture into the prepared baking dish.
Dot the top of the pudding with the melted butter.
Place the baking sheet on a jellyroll pan and fill it with water to create a water bath.
Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the pudding is set in the center.
Let the pudding cool in the baking dish for 10 minutes before serving.
