DIY: How to Make Slime from Borax & Clear Glue!!!
****Please note that children should be supervised when playing with this slime. Adults should prepare this slime made from clear glue recipe. Wearing plastic gloves is also an option to prevent any possible allergic reactions when making it and playing with it. We put our’s in plastic zippered bags and the kids play with it that way.
When I used to work as a teacher we used to do an annual “slime” science project with the kids. I always secretly looked forward to making our easy, peasy slime! In fact, that is how I was first introduced to Borax. When the opportunity to work with Borax came about, I knew I would make slime with my kids. I figured it would be an awesome homeschooling science project!
DIY: How to Make Slime from Borax & Clear Glue:
- Two bowls
- 1 cup hot water- as hot as the tap can get *no need to be boiled
- 1 cup water *room temp is fine
- Green & yellow food coloring (or whatever color you like. Use none for clear slime!)
- 1 cup of clear school glue (we used Elmer’s) You will need two bottles to make this amount
- 1 Teaspoon Borax 20 Mule Team
- Measuring Cup
To get your clear glue green slime a brewin’ add your 1 cup of clear glue into your mixing bowl.
Add your one cup of room temperature water in and combine.
In your other bowl, add the 1 teaspoon of Borax (adults), and 1 cup of hot water, and stir for one minute. There may be some small floating particles but that is ok.
Add your warm water and Borax mixed solution into the clear glue and water solution and stir vigorously. Your slime will start to goop up. Make sure you stir until most of the liquid is gone *please note, there may be a little left over.
Store your Slime from Borax & Clear Glue in a plastic container or zippered bags
**See above for disclosure. We only prepare this for our children, and do NOT allow then to do it themselves. We cannot be responsible if your slime does not form. It has failed to work for even us with cheaper alternatives.
