DIY: How to Make Green Slime from Borax & Clear Glue!!!
****Please note that children should be supervised when playing with this slime. Wearing plastic gloves is also an option to prevent any possible allergic reactions when making it and playing with it. We put our’s in plastic zippered bags and the kids play with it that way.
When I used to work as a teacher we used to do an annual “slime” science project with the kids. I always secretly looked forward to making our easy, peasy slime! In fact, that is how I was first introduced to Borax. When the opportunity to work with Borax came about, I knew I would make some slime with my kids. I figured it would be an awesome homeschooling science project!
- Two bowls
- 1 cup luke-warm water
- 1/2 cup cold water
- Green & yellow food coloring
- 5oz of clear school glue (we used Elmer’s)
- 1 Teaspoon Borax 20 Mule Team
- Measuring Cup
- Gloves *optional
To get your slime a brewin’ mix 1 cup of luke warm water in a bowl with 1 teaspoon of Borax 20 Mule Team Booster in the bowl-stir well.
In your other bowl, empty 5 oz of clear glue in, 1/2 cup regular temp water, 3 drops of green food coloring, and 2 drops of yellow. Of course you could really make it any colors you wish!
Add your warm water, and Borax solution to your bowl, and using a wooden stirrer mix it well, or until it goops up.
