Cheese and barbecue sauce have a way of making everything better around here. I feel like I can dress up any meal with a sprinkle or two of cheese, and a nice dollop of barbecue sauce. My love of these two ingredients were the inspiration for the very delicious, easy to make Barbecue Chicken Baked Wontons. However, I can’t take all the credit for this delicious snack, because they wouldn’t be possible without Farm Rich Boneless BBQ Chicken Bites.
My family LOVES wontons so much so I decided to play on their love for them with my “snack hack“. We are such fans of Farm Rich frozen snacks and appetizers so it was really fun to incorporate them into a crispy baked wonton. Their Boneless BBQ Chicken Bites feature all white meat chicken with a delicious crunchy coating. They even included a convenient BBQ sauce packet right inside the box. This keeps the bites crunchy, and prevents sogginess.
Making our Barbecue Chicken Baked Wontons was ridiculously easy! They were ready in less than 30 minutes, and we made a whopping 24 wontons! This recipe would be totally amazing for after school snacks, quick lunches, appetizers, and crowd pleasers! You will not be stuck in the kitchen either because as mentioned they are so easy to prepare.
We purchased all the ingredients for our Barbecue Chicken Baked Wontons at Walmart. The Farm Rich Boneless BBQ Chicken Bites can be found in the frozen appetizer section. They are now in boxes, and Farm Rich makes tons of delicious frozen snacks that your family is sure to love! While I was at Walmart, I also picked up some cream cheese, green onion, cheddar cheese, and wonton wrappers for this snack.
Here is what you will need to make these Barbecue Chicken Baked Wontons:
- 1 box of Farm Rich Boneless BBQ Chicken Bites
- 1 package of wonton wrappers
- 1 bunch of scallions or green onion
- 1 8 ounce package of cream cheese
- 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
Prepare the Farm Rich Boneless BBQ Chicken Bites according to the box. We baked our’s in the oven.
In a large mixing bowl, add the defrosted BBQ sauce package, cream cheese, half the scallions, and cheddar
Once chicken is done, chop it into small pieces, and add it to the bowl, mix thoroughly.
Grease two 12 count cupcake tins with non-stick spray.
Press wonton wrappers gently into each cup
Bake for 5 minutes at 350 degrees.
Once out of the oven, fill each cup evenly with cheese mixture
Bake for an additional 5 minutes at 350
Sprinkle each with remaining scallion/green onion and serve
This were such an amazing snack, and even lunch! My kids has a few each the next day with some veggie sticks! What a fun after school snack hack this truly was!
