Having a child with food allergies is one of the most difficult aspects of parenting. I lived this life for quite a few years with my extra special middle child. She has some dairy and gluten allergies that affected her digestive system. Thankfully, my daughter’s food allergies were not deadly but I know just how careful we had to be with avoiding food allergies like gluten.
At the time, there was no fish & chips, hardly any pasta, or snacks, and eating out was a struggle. Thankfully, these days, there are many companies stepping up to create delicious foods that are not only gluten-free, but free of major food allergies like eggs, and dairy!
My latest favorite and I mean FAVORITE is Hook Line and Savor. This new to the market company produces the best frozen Beer Battered Haddock that I have ever had.
The best part? It is FREE of major food allergies like eggs, gluten, and dairy!! Each box contains 2 healthy-sized pieces of quality, flaky, white-meat haddock. In fact, it is the same quality fish you can find from a fishmonger.
I love that each piece of beer battered haddock is LIGHTLY breaded with allergy-friendly batter! They even use gluten-free beer which is super cool!!
But, what is even more convenient and delicious is that the Hook Line and Savor package comes with two packets of allergy free tartar sauce! I cannot even pretend that the tartar sauce is not the best I have ever had. It even tops my favorite recipe that I make. It is so tangy and LOADED with flavor–you have GOT to try this!! We also even received a nice savings coupon!
To make our gluten-free beer battered haddock and true meal, I cooked some allergy-friendly roasted root veggies. I used carrots, red bliss potatoes, and parsnips.
The warm of the veggies, tenderness of the fish, and tang of the tartar sauce made this my best spin of food allergy friendly fish & chips!
Looking to find Hook Line and Savor at your local market? Be sure to head to their official site! They have two additional flavors right now which include Black Bean Crusted Cod, and Citrus Ginger salmon.
These frozen fish meals truly can bring the restaurant experience right to your freezer!
One last tidbit that I love is that they have a catch code on their packaging where you can enter the code at HookLineandSavor.com to see where you fish was caught from! Tell me that is not super cool? Currently, they only use premium haddock, cod, and salmon.
You can find this product at Kroger stores in Michigan, Ohio, and West Virginia. Be sure to sign up for their newsletter to stay up to date on product availability or let us know before where you want to see Hook Line and Savor nearest you!
