How to stock up on pads & tampons
Who doesn’t love to score *HOT* savings on everyday products from brands like Always and Tampax? I know I was once an avid couponer who would stock up on products like these to build my stockpile. I’d pair sales with high-value coupons to get the most bang for my buck.
Stores like Dollar General are the perfect place to stock up on things like tampons and pads, shampoo, soaps, and even undergarments. They have reasonable everyday prices that can be maximized when you use the Dollar General app and/or paper coupons from the P&G Everyday BrandSaver coupon booklet that comes out each month.
Did you know you can use up to 2 coupons per product to save even more at Dollar General? You can pair a store coupon & a manufacturer’s coupon (for the same exact item) to save BIG!
It is rare these days that a high-value $2 off coupon is realeased. But, for the month of August BrandSaver put out 2 high-value coupons for Always Pads and Tampax Tampons.
You can clip these coupons using your good old fashioned scissors or you can use the in-app coupons available on the FREE Dollar General app.
For us, I used the BrandSaver $2 paper coupon for Always & Tampax and will also use my Dollar General app coupon to stock up.
What to do with your stockpile?
I love to have extra hair and boy care items on-hand because my family of 5 uses a lot these days! We go through at least one bottle of shampoo and conditioner each week and tons of soap. Now that we all pretty much use deodorant these days, that is also popular!
But, what happens when items start to accumulate faster than you can use them? Well, the answer is simple–donate them! I have ALWAYS been a huge proponent for donating excess goods.
You might not need items like Always Pads and Tampax Tampons, but others do! These items are highly sought after for women in shelters, the homeless, or young women who might be experiencing period poverty.
All the excess body washes, razors, snacks, and feminine hygiene products can bless others who have fallen on hard times–especially these days.
How to make a blessings bag
If you have extra hair and body care items on-hand that is a great place to start your donation. However, you might not have anything to start with. But, that is okay because between stores like Dollar General, and coupons/app savings–you can make a blessings bag on a budget!
Bag
To start, you will need a bag. You can use gallon-sized zippered bags, reusable shopping bags, paper store bags, back packs, or drawstring bags. Around here, I have a ton of all of the above accumulated so that part is easy, peasy. Maybe you are in the same boat? If not, you can pick up a reusable Dollar General bag near the checkout, or use a paper one.

Your blessings bags can be for kids, men, or women. Most of mine are more suited for women but I have done some guys ones. Here are some much-appreciated items that are typically in high-demand.

Once you make your blessings bag, it is time to distribute it. Whether your recipient is a expectant or new mother, a neighbor, a homeless person its times to brighten their day.
I have seen people drop off their bags to panhandlers, or leave them at churches or homeless camps. There are just so many people around us in need so it should not be too hard to find someone to help.
