Bunny Candy Splash Cupcakes
The other day, Spring fever hit me really good when the sun started shining, and the temperatures were warmer. I craved bright colors, and spring-like sweet treats so I made some Candy Drizzled Easter Popcorn. It came out super pretty and was almost too cute to actually eat. My kids enjoyed it, but since I has so much extra melts, I didn’t stop there.
In comes these colorful Bunny Candy Splash Cupcakes. They are actually just made from boxed cake mix, and store bought frosting, but I wanted to share the idea with you all of creating a candy splash on your cupcakes. It really can make your next batch of cupcakes really cute, and it is actually super easy to do!
I used candy melts for these cupcakes because I love how quickly they harden verses premium chocolate. It can easily be done with both, but I liked the convenience of the candy wafers already being melted.
Here is how to make Bunny Candy Splash Cupcakes:
- 24 baked and cooled cupcakes
- Vanilla Frosting
- Frosting bag & Large star piping tip
- Candy Melts in Pink, Yellow, and White
- 3 glass bowls
- 3 forks
- parchment lined baking sheets
Frost your cooled cupcakes with your favorite style of frosting
Prepare your glass bowls, and carefully melt each over a double boiler, or using a microwave. Since candy wafers are not real chocolate they actually melt just fine in the microwave. However, if you are creating a premium chocolate splash, the double boiler will not ruin the chocolate’s consistency.
Once your trio of colors are melted, place a small batch of cupcakes on your parchment-lined baking sheet. this will make cleanup much easier since this candy drizzle melts fast.
Dip each fork into the melted candy, and then swizzle it over the cupcakes
I added candy bunnies to mine and colorful candies to make them more festive.
These cupcakes are perfect for parties, Easter celebrations, or anytime really.
