Looking for ways to celebrate your wedding anniversary with kids? This is how we celebrated our last anniversary with our three children.
On May 21st, Jared and I celebrate our wedding anniversary.
The funny part is we nearly forget about it! You see, things have been so hectic around here. We are in the midst of buying and selling a home so things have been pretty chaotic. Getting our humble abode ready for viewings, packing, and the normal stresses of moving had us pulled in way too many directions.
To add to the chaos, we had a special family vacation planned where we decided we would celebrate our wedding anniversary with our kids. Normally, we would have a date night reserved at a fancy restaurant with time to reflect.
This year, however, the celebration was put on hold for one month. Truthfully, when you have kids, marriage anniversaries are never quite the same. It becomes harder to dedicate time for each other to celebrate.
I thought it was hard celebrating with one child, but with three it is near impossible to find a sitter for 3-4 hours!
Over the years, we adopted our own way of celebrating which involved our kids joining in. Now that they are older, they realize how sacred marriage is, and acknowledge our special day. This year, we celebrated in Williamsburg, VA poolside with the kids. We went out for a nice family dinner and sat by the pool to reflect on how fast the years have gone by.
Anniversary Cards
It is crazy to think I have a beautiful 12-year-old daughter which came quickly after getting married. She was one of our first of many blessings so it was only fitting that she picked out the Hallmark Anniversary Card for Jared and I. I think she did a beautiful job too because the card is gorgeous!
Before vacation, our family headed to Walgreens to pick up some last-minute vacation staples which included sunscreen, candy, and Anniversary Cards.
I love Hallmark Signature Cards because they are a gift and meaningful card all wrapped into one.
The Hallmark Wedding & Anniversary Cards are so beautiful and vast!
They have such gorgeous choices that really speak to virtually any couple.
It was mega hard choosing one for Jared, but I went with this Hallmark Signature Collection Anniversary card: Here’s to the Good Life That Comes From Making Love Last.
I really loved the pretty detail and the message it told. It was perfect for him and our journey.
He loved it and thought my note was extra special!
The kids picked out a shimmery Hallmark Signature Anniversary Card that said: Congratulations on Another Year of Dazzling us All. –Way too cute!
They were so excited to give it to us the first night we settled on vacation.
Lastly, the card Jared picked out for me was also from the Hallmark Signature line and read: It’s Always Been You with the cutest gold heart, and the inside reads- Always Will Be- Happy Anniversary.
I loved this card and the message he wrote because it was simple, yet right from the heart.
If you have kids, I am sure you can relate that wedding anniversary celebrations are not quite the same, but possibly better! I now have three little blessings that we created together to share the joy with.
I have three children who will hopefully grow up to be best friends. I have three kids who will always see what true love is day in and day out. My three kids are the life that Jared and I created together after marriage and for me, that is reason enough to celebrate!
Dessert
Since no anniversary is complete without flowers and a sweet treat we all enjoyed the tastiest chocolate cherry cake.
It was so delicious even though it wanted to melt from the extreme heat.
Flowers
Flowers were also in order because why not?
Nothing like receiving a gorgeous bouquet in addition to a Hallmark card to celebrate.

We usually do something on our own and get a babysitter, but some times the kids give us a card and a hug! We LOVE sweet treats so we usually find something to share with the kids!

This is really a sweet post! I think it’s awesome that you make your anniversary a family affair, because truly it takes the entire family to make a marriage work. That chocolate cake looks amazing as well, now my mouth is watering, laugh.

What a really sweet thing to include your children. I agree that anniversaries somehow feel more special when you do it as a full unit.

We have done some celebrating with our kids before and it always turns out fine. Some years it just gets too hectic to sneak away on our own. I always love the variety of cards that Hallmark offers!!

Happy anniversary! There isn’t much we do without the kids, so this is right up our alley. The cards, the sweet moments– I want the kids to be a part of all of it. Although I’d probably hoard dessert for myself.
