Made with fresh cold brew coffee, this coffee milkshake is the perfect way to enjoy the summer. This classic milkshake is blended with rich vanilla bean ice cream and topped with whipped cream and a cherry for a fun summer treat.
This post is sponsored by Shaw’s. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Now that my family vacation has come and gone, it is back to the dog days of summer. While New England is not as oppressive as some southern states, I dream of cooler times.
Not having a pool surely doesn’t help, but I have learned to adapt and conquer in this hot weather. One of the ways we stay cool is by enjoying icy drinks and treats.
My three kids love their ice cream, and so do Jared and I. My kids are all about the NESTLÉ® DRUMSTICK® cones, and Jared and I love splitting a Häagen-Dazs® Vanilla Bean. The creamy goodness is surely a splurge reserved for a treat for super hot days.
Shaw’s Anniversary Sale
I look forward to stocking up on products like Häagen-Dazs®, Starbucks® Coffee, Coca-Cola®, and DRUMSTICK® cones at Shaw’s Supermarket when they have their Anniversary sale. These types of foods and beverages go super quick in our home, so purchasing them on sale is key!
We have two refrigerators in our home—one indoors, and one in the garage for stock-up sales. When brands like these go on sale, we stock up for all the summer fun, playdates, and BBQs.
I shop at Shaw’s weekly, even if it is just to exclusively pick up sale items. I have been shopping there since I was young and have grown used to their family-friendly supermarket. My kids enjoy getting their free cookie from the bakery, and I love the brands and prices they have!
The products mentioned in this post are on sale at the Albertsons Companies retailers from August 2nd – August 15. Products on sale at Shaw’s retailers may differ.
Free Food with the Shaw’s App
These days, I am really enjoying the Shaw’s app. You can find members-only discounts, coupons, and even Saturday Samplers where you can score FREE food & beverage items while supplies last. I love this app and earn tons of free food via their rewards.
It also makes clipping coupons easy, peasy! If you do not have the app, you are missing out on lots of savings, member’s only pricing, and freebies—YES, free stuff! I am sure we could all use some freebies these days!
How to make a Coffee Milkshake
Since Jared and I are Starbucks® lovers, I wanted to share a quick and easy coffee milkshake recipe that you can make at home. This drink is such a fantastic summer dessert beverage and takes me back to simpler times.
To make this premium coffee milkshake, you need the good stuff! Häagen-Dazs Vanilla Bean ice cream, and Starbucks® Cold Brew Breakfast Blend coffee make for the richest combination.
The ingredients for a classic coffee milkshake are simple. You will need the following ingredients for 2 small milkshakes. Want more? Just double the recipe ingredients.
Ingredients for Coffee Milkshake
- Cold brewed coffee or chilled strong brew (Starbucks® Breakfast Blend coffee), 1 cup
- Vanilla bean ice cream (Häagen-Dazs®), 2 cups
- Chocolate Sauce (about 2 tablespoons & some for drizzling)
- Whipped cream (canned whipping cream)
- Cherries
Directions
Add chilled coffee, ice cream scoops, and 2 tablespoons of chocolate sauce to a blender. Blend until creamy.
Pour into two glasses.
Add whipped cream, chocolate sauce swizzle, and a cherry.
Enjoy right away!
How to Make Chilled Coffee
If you do not have a cold brew coffee maker, you can use strong brewed chilled coffee. Simply brew your coffee on the strong mode (typically means adding more ground coffee per cup), then place it in a glass container and allow it to chill in the fridge.
Additionally, you could use 2-4 shots of chilled espresso to also make these drinks.
Kid-friendly Coke Floats
If you want a more kid-friendly summer drink, you could make them a Coke float. Simply pour 4 ounces of Coke into a small glass and top with 1-2 ice cream scoops. Add a straw, some whipped cream and a cherry for them to enjoy.
