Gumball Filled Mason Jar Flower Vase – Mother’s Day Gift Idea
Now that Easter has come and gone the next special event on the calendar is Mother’s Day.
I know many of you are probably thinking what I’m thinking:
“Isn’t everyday mother’s day?“
Well yes, it kind of is because you have kids, but it sure does feel nice to get a little more recognition for all our hard work and efforts throughout the years. I know there are a lot of dads out there too who work just as hard-your month is coming up too!
In light of Mother’s Day which happens to fall on May 1oth this year, I thought I’d share a little easy DIY with you all. I love making my own crafts and gifts because I have tons of supplies I have acquired throughout the years, and giving unique gifts is just fun.
I guess you could say I “hoard” mason jars in all different shapes and sizes. I love them for canning, foods, storage, and of course crafts. Mason jars hands down make the best craft starters! That is why I used two wide mouth jars for my Mother’s Day Gumball Filled Mason Jar Flower Vase gifts.
They sure are cute huh?
Here is what you need to make your own Gumball Filled Mason Jar Flower Vase:
- Mason jar(s)
- Colorful Gumballs-I used SweetWorks Celebrations Gumballs
- Raffia for bows
- Daisy Stems *coordinate your colors from the stems to the gumballs
- Pre-drilled Mason Jar lids (can do these yourself
- Wire cutters (to reduce flower stem size)
Directions:
Clean your mason jars with hot soapy water, and then dry them
Fill them up with your gumballs-leave some wiggle room for your flower stems
Cut your flowers stems so that there is about 2-3″ of space for the flower to bend while the mason jar cap is screwed on. You want the flower to be able to flex.
After your gumballs are in the jar, insert your flowers, and pose them
