This DIY No-Sew Dog Bed is an easy DIY that can be made with no sewing skills. Use an old pillow or upcycled fabric to make your pet’s next bed. This post was sponsored. All views are that of my own.
Our little Beasley is approaching her senior years and has started to slightly slow down her activity level. Some of her favorite things are lounging on her dog bed, and enjoying treats like SmartBones SmartSticks Peanut Butter snacks.
Since my dog’s teeth are not in the best shape due to her breed, we like to always have a quality treat on-hand that allows her to satiate her natural desire to chew.
However, we do not allow her to have rawhide bones due to the riskiness of these products. Dog treats that are rawhide-free are very important to us, so brands like SmartBones (rawhide-free alternative) are not only a healthy alternative to rawhide but are also nutritious.
Rawhide Free Pet Treats
For pet parents looking for healthier ways to treat their dogs, SmartBones is the surprising chew that gives dogs the satisfaction they want with the nutrition they can feel good about. Making them the Good For Them. Good For You furbaby treat.
SmartBones SmartSticks Peanut Butter
Little Beasley is a sucker for peanut butter so the SmartBones SmartSticks Peanut Butter Chews were the perfect choice. I know she would probably love all the varieties, but these were the perfect shape and size for her to not only bury under her DIY dog bed but to enjoy at a later time.
Beasley is a total treat burier and loves to hide her treats from my kids (as if they would be competition). I cannot even get them to eat what I make for dinner half the time…haha so she has nothing to worry about.
DIY No Sew Dog Bed
This DIY no-sew dog bed is one of the simplest pet DIYs I have done in a while. In the past, I made Beasley a no-sew fleece blanket but wanted to freshen up her bedding for the spring.
I purchased some fabric for this pet bed, but I did upcycle a mismatched throw pillow I have been holding onto for a while. Since my little furbaby loves to roll in the mud and occasionally pees her bedding, I used a waterproof protector on the fabric.
Supplies needed for a No-Sew Pet Bed
To make this dog bed you will need the following supplies. Please note, that material size will vary based on the pillow size you use.
- Fabric of your choice
- Pillow
- Scissors
- Chalk
- Ruler
No-Sew Dog Bed Tips for Success
Measure the size of your pillow and buy give yourself at least 6-8 inches in extar fabric so you have enough material to knot off.
Double knots will work best in this situation.
Using chalk will help you mark off the edge squares and strips. You could also eyeball it once you get the hang of it.
A yardstick ruler would work best, but of course I could not find mine in my hoard of crafting supplies.
Waterproofing your pets bed is optional. You could probably unknot one side to wash the cover.
