DIY Turtle Ring Holder Made with Pottery Cool
Wondering what kind of gift to get the little artist in your life this holiday season? I am sure we have all been there and done that with kids who might be a little too old for certain toys, but too young for others. If you have some little artsy crafters in your life, you are going to want to check out Pottery Cool Clay Studio by Spin Master. It is the perfect toy that can help your child create crafty gifts like this DIY Turtle Ring Holder all while having fun!
Have you ever wanted to create your own pottery crafts? I know when I was 10 years old, our arts and crafts room in school had a pottery kiln and wheel. Our teacher supervised us all as we created a gift for our parents on year. I do not fully remember exactly what I made, but the experience was a fun one and something I would have loved to delve into further.
Now, with the Pottery Cool Clay Studio, your child can make DIY gift creations like pencil holders, bowls, jewelry holders, bottles, and animals and more! The possibilities are truly endless with this easy to use at home pottery studio for kids. Ok, so I admit, this item might be geared toward older kids and tweens, but 32 year old girls love it too (wink).
Using the Pottery Cool Clay Studio is actually very easy! They give your four clay discs, a water bottles, paints, a brush, cutting tools, two molds, and the actual main unit. The only thing that is not included is batteries which stinks because that meant an extra trip to the store , so if you are buying this as a gift please add them -parents everywhere will thank you!
How Pottery Cool Works
To use Pottery Cool, simply place a mold of choice (or none depending on the project) your clay disk (or half a disc) onto the turntable, gently spray it with water a few times and watch it spin and take shape in your hands. And once air-dried, you can have fun by painting your creation and making it truly unique.
How to make this DIY Turtle Ring Holder
I know my two girls had a blast making their DIY gift creation for my birthday! They know I love cute little turtles so they made me such an adorable clay turtle ring holder. To make this, they used half a clay disc for the main body, created a depression for the rings, and forms little legs, and a tail with approximately 1/3 of the remaining half disc of clay. To make eyes they used a toothpick, and the shell pattern was made using one of the included tools.
This DIY Turtle Ring Holder Made with Pottery Cool took 24 hours to cure, but once it was dried the kids painted it with the gold and green paints and gifted it to me. I added some rings to it to show how this awesome gift idea!
Pottery Cool can be purchased at Walmart for $39.99
