These Easy Halloween Bloody Eyeball Cupcakes are made with store-bought frosting, orange cake mix, and red cookie icing. Topped with an eyeball gumball, they are the perfect ghoulish treat.
Even though it sounds so weird to say that Halloween is already next month, it is! I know this Indian Summer might be getting to you, but soon enough the cool, crisp Fall chill with be in the air.
I have always enjoyed creepy Halloween cupcakes so I decided to make tons already and I cannot wait to share them all with you!
The best part is that these are easy peasy Halloween Cupcakes DIY’s that even someone with no skills could pull off.
I am all about simple when it comes to cupcake designs. I work with what I have or what is sent to me. The cupcake base for my Easy Halloween Bloody Eyeball Cupcakes is Pillsbury Orange bagged mix.
It cut out the extra work of having to add food grade coloring gels to my batter. However, it can be easily done by mixing 3 parts yellow and one part red food gel.
How to Make Bloody Cupcakes
Typically, I use my homemade buttercream frosting which is very fluffy, yet pliable for cupcake making. If you cannot follow that recipe, I suggest getting a jarred variety that is whipped.
This will allow you to get a good frosted swirl with your large star tip. For the “blood” that is generously drizzled over my Halloween Bloody Eyeball Cupcakes I used Wilton Cookie frosting in red. It was the perfect thinness to get that special blood drip!
The eyeballs are from SweetWorks and are really cute if that is possible? They are gumballs and taste awesome too!!
My kids got a real kick out of the gore effect these had. Ideally, they’d be perfect for a zombie party, or Halloween bash.
You could make a little SweetWorks candy buffet and have some really awesome “gross factor” halloween snacks, and punch!
