My kids always enjoy cookies/crackers from Chips Ahoy!, RITZ, NutterButter, and OREO in their lunch boxes, so we always are sure to be stocked up. I love the traditional flavors but can always appreciate seasonal faves like the Halloween OREO cookies.
I mean, these brands are iconic because even 30 years ago, I was enjoying them for after school snacks. They also make the BEST cookies/crackers to dip in chocolate for Halloween festivities.
We had a BLAST making these creepy, but cute concoctions with the kids this past weekend. I loved that I didn’t have to do any baking and pretty much could use my microwave for the melting.
NutterButter Ghosts
To make these simply spooky ghost cookies, you will need a few easy to find ingredient items from Walmart or Walmart Online Grocery Pickup and Delivery:
- NutterButter Cookies
- 12 ounces white chocolate morsels
- Donuts if adding cookies to these. *optional
- 3 ounces of chocolate if adding cookies to donuts *optional
- Black candies for eyes
- Black food gel
- Baking rack
- Spoon
- Microwave-safe bowl or double boiler
Make
- Add white chocolate morsels to a double boiler, or microwave-safe bowl. Heat chocolate at 50% power in 20 second intervals; stir in between each. Chocolate should be smooth and creamy once ready.
- Dip NutterButter cookies (individually) into the melted white chocolate and remove excess chocolate with the back of a spoon.
- Place dipped cookie on your baking rack and repeat the process until all cookies have been dipped.
- Adhere the tiny black candies for the eyes on each cookie.
- Using black food gel, carefully pipe on an oval mouth; repeat.
- Allow chocolate to harden in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
- Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 5 days for best taste.
- If you are adding these ghosts to donuts, add a tiny bit of melted chocolate to the back of the ghost cookies to stick it to the donut. If you do this method, you will need an extra 3 ounces of chocolate morsels which you will need to melt after the cookies have hardened.
