If you are searching for an inexpensive doll for a Christmas present, a FailFix Doll is the perfect choice. They are priced under $20, and provide endless hours of playtime fun. Let’s explore why my daughter enjoys these dolls so much!
FailFix Dolls Overview
#Failfix Dolls are ideal for little girls like my daughter who enjoy styling hair, doing makeup, and admiring fashion. These dolls are inspired by online beauty fails (lol). Each doll comes with shoes, earrings, a dress, and accessories — like glasses or other unique items. They also are boxed with a plastic robe to hide their outfit which provides a fun element of surprise.
You can apply their face masks again and again to take them from fail to fix in seconds. This makes #Failfix playtime with these dolls endless!
As a parent, I love these dolls because, initially, they are, well, hot messes. Their hair is entangled with shoes, earrings, and accessories. They each also come with a spa mask that adheres to their “makeup-fail” face. Once attached to the ears, the messy face reveals a beautiful makeup look.
To enjoy the doll and make her more “rejuvenated,” kids have to brush out their tangled hair and carefully extract the accessories. You have to start at the bottom of the hair and work your way up to get a smooth look — it takes patience. We actually tried giving it a quick wash in the sink to rinse out the glue they use to tangle her hair. A simple rinse in water revealed the gorgeous shine of our doll’s hair.
Why We Love These Dolls
As a toy-loving mom, my two girls have taken after me with a strong affection for dolls of all shapes and sizes. But there are no dolls on the market as unique as these. I think the concept is so humorous and different. I can appreciate the hot mess aspect, because I am “that” hot mess mom most of the time. Moreover, I appreciate the message that we all mistakes — it’s okay to be imperfect.
Currently, we own @SlayItDJ, @Dance.Stylz, and @PreppiPosh. We are really hoping that Santa will bring the other two dolls — that would be a ton of fun!
FailFix Dolls was also nominated for a Toy of the Year Award in the doll category. They have also been selected as a top toy for the holiday by Amazon, the Toy Insider, and the National Parenting Product Awards. They deserve it for changing the landscape of fashion dolls! I love how the collection of dolls celebrates diversity in body type, skintone, and style aesthetic.

My oldest daughter would have LOVED these when she was little. She was all about styling hair (and is now a hairdresser). We bought every doll that would allow her to fix its hair!

I think these dolls are great. By giving children “fails” to play with and enjoy, we may help our children realize they do not have to be perfect to be loved and valued.
