Marshmallow Rice Cereal Flower Treats are made with a sweet combination of Fruity Pebbles® Cereal. Decorated with Shimmer Spring Mix Sixlets, these are a fun party snack to make for your guests.
Now that Spring is here I cannot wait until I start to see some flowers blooming in my yard. Since it snowed yesterday (bummer) I guess I will have to settle for making some gluten free flower sweet treats.
Since 2/4 of my family members need to eat gluten free, I thought it would be easy and fun to make Fruity Marshmallow Rice Flower Treats. I used fruit based rice cereal, but you could use regular rice cereal too! I am just looking for any excuse to fill my home with pretty pastel spring colors.
Fruity Pebble Treats
*makes approximately 8 large flowers
Ingredients
- 5 cups of Fruity Pebbles® Cereal
- 1 (7.5 ounce) jar of Marshmallow Fluff
- ¼ cup of unsalted butter
- 1 (4.5 oz. jar) of Shimmer Spring Mix Celebration Sixlets by SweetWorks®
Make these treats
Melt butter in a medium-large stock pot over low heat.
Add butter, and stir frequently until the mixture is melted, and sticky.
Add the 5 cups of cereal in and stir. Remove from heat, and firmly press the mixture into a buttered, or parchment-lined cookie sheet. Allow it to harden for several hours.
Using a flower shaped cookie cutter, punch out your flowers by firmly inserting the cookie cutter into the cereal treat. You should be able to make 6 large flowers, or up to ten smaller ones depending on the size of your cookie cutter.
Once cut out, pipe your flower with frosting, and adorn with Spring Mix Sixlets. Use yellow Sixlets for the inner flower, and rotate colors for the pattern.
